I really like the way this is coming together. I've been looking at a 60 Chevy 4 door and thinking of somthing like this( might get it started somtime late in my next life time). What I was thinking for the cowl and headlights was using the orginal cowl and the first 6 inches or so of the front end (grill, headlights, fenders and hood) to form the cowl and upper part of the firewall. This would bring the body shape around from the side and across the firewall. The head lights and the grill on the firewall coould also help fill the space on either side of the engine.

I am not sure  but when I spotted it in a local guys garage I knew I had to have it for this build :D. I am thinking it may have come from a carny ride of some sort. Those little spaceships that the kids ride .

  4. I was looking at a 58 Cad rear clip and trying to figure out out how to narrow the body to fit a different frame. What I came up with is to pie cut the entire body down the middle. Wider in the front and narrowing to the rear to bring the quarters inside of the tires. Instead of a bubble I drew in a Carson top. The headlights would be mounted along the front edge of the cowl (3 per side, vertical) and use a track roadster or modified tractor grill to hide the radaitor.

    Hey Joe!
    Awesume buddy.......
If you are looking for old Caddy parts, our own Skip in the Club has several :)
and he is a sick Custom dude too :)

  6. If it's OK by you, I'm going to flesh out this drawing, I'm thinking 61 Lincoln grill pattern (or modern Lincoln mid-size SUV, easier to come by, looks the same, not restoration), Imperial headlights would be cool, but how about having just the outer bezels, and then make 4 pods in the top of the cowl?

I really like the rear wheels being under the body too.

Are we going with the Persian Sand (lavender) for color?

Glenn, thanks man I really appreciate it but the only thing that is going to be Caddy it the sheetmetal I have already and that will be transformed :D to where it will show it's influence to the build. I have some pretty trick things up my sleeve for this thing so keep in touch you may like it. By the way your green car has influenced my choice in colors as well.

Well I got some stuff done over the weekend . I chopped down the frame and set the makings of the body back on. This allowed me to set the motor in place inorder for me to get a visual of headlight placement.

They look to me like the kind of a steering wheel that would have been on a carnival ride for kids. the kind that would spin but were not attached to anything.

How big are they? Are they the same width as a regular steering wheel?
