Mostly Stock height roofs on the closed cars and no tatts on the young guys ,theres even an Australian bodied 34 phaeton blue two tone in the first few pics ,,,,must have been one of the the first to go over from here ,,wonder if the owner got a shock when he found those body "differences",,,

Andy's Instant T's, Roy's dad, Champion Speed Shop! I still have some of their licence plate frames. Visited there in '75, was pretty cool to a 26 year old kid in a '47 Ford coupe from Canada coming back from Lodi.

So cool. Thanks for taking the time for scanning and posting.

I know times/ runs/ shows have changed, but I still like a bunch of strictly pre-'48s together.

An all time favorite, I even convinced my dad, who didn't care for '37s, to check out a '37 humpback sedan from a farm auction when I was sixteen. We got outbid.

Any idea if it is still around? Did he build any other cars?

Orv, went on to build more top quality, well detailed cars. Sorry I have no pics of them.

Wow, I clicked on the thread 'cause '73 was the one year I went out to Crow Canyon Park with my buddys Ron and Danny. Imagine my surprise when I saw this pic of my friend Danny front and center dancin' to the band with not a care in the world! At 18 all we cared about were cars and chicks! Hard to believe it's been 44 years!

I was there! Only 4 years old!
Our 33 (now mine) uncles 34’ and our 37’ club coupe in the front row backed in 3 cars over to the right from the yellow model A closed cab!
The place is for sale, if you have 4 million!
    Man I miss the 70’s!

    Close up of our cars!
The 33 doll was my aunt Dolly’s at the time! Then my Pops, now mine. The 34’ was my uncle Jon’s and the 37’ club coupe was ours too. IMG_1148.JPG

    @33Doll -

Thanks for bumping this old thread ... and for sharing your family's photographs from the event.

Note that this is Ed @plywude Lee's Aussie '33 Phaeton ... at its second or third "rod run" since he got it on the road:

    Ed Lee's Aussie '33 Phaeton @ Andy's Picnic '73 (by 33Doll).jpeg

At this point, the car still hadn't be registered (note the temp registration on the windshield) ... and the parking brake still hadn't been connected (note the rock strategically place in front of rear tire :D)

I was 4 and still remember some of it!
Nothing like those runs back in the 70’s
In the wine country, bay area when it still had land.

I guess I missed this thread years ago but thanks for these pics. I was 11 yrs old in August of '73 and in Montana but the the scenes and the vibe remind me of the crowds and cars at the local Hustler's Dragway on summer Sundays back in the 70's. Dirt parking lot and a laid back atmosphere.

The 46’ had a nail head!
Front wheels would come off the ground! No lie! It had a fire right after he detailed it the first time! Had to do all over again! But he did it fairly fast!
That truck was ugly but fast and loud!
