I'm going to agree with DeadFast but I'm not an ***hole.

The car is sleek with 'Jetsons' space age flair.

Those look like buckets for 7" headlights, maybe if they were 5" it would look less bulky.

Me... I'd give up on quads. Loose the lower headlights, slide the upper headlights down to the lower's position, mounted to the side of the grill shell.... but it's not my car.

    OR

I kinda liked this rendition BUT move them closer together so the inboards are partially in front of the grill like above. Then cut up the 7" bullets to cover the back of the quad housings and blend them into the side of the grill shell.

by the way... your car is *****N'

I have looked at that shell many times. I just cant bring myself to just buy a piece of fibergl*** and put on it. Plus I am just not that crazy about it.

They are 7" headlight buckets. Too big for some people but they are ok with me. I knew there would be some people that didnt like it and I knew some people would. But its my car and I like it and I am building it for me and not anyone else. Not trying to sound like a ****head but its too easy to get wrapped up in what might gain approval on here and I aint going to fall into that trap. You could never finish a car if you wanted everyones approval of it. I guess I could have just slapped a gl*** duece shell on it like 20000 other people would have......

Leaning towards a white with pearl and light purple metallic panel job.

Stainless mess with lots of chrome drawer pulls.

I wish I could grow enough hair these days to even attempt a mullet!

So might say I live in my own little world.

And to those who like it, thank you, you guys help to keep me motivated. To those who dont like it, thank you too, we all have our own opinions and even though you dont like it I can still appreciate your interest in this enough to put your opinion out there.

I like it, with some reservations. I like the canted quad headlights, and the early buckets you used will look cool painted up. However, the grill shell itself is a touch too wide. It's a little wider at the front (with the headlights on) than the cowl looks to be. The side profile is good, but what's it look like from above?

Imagine it with a hood top. A hood should taper slightly from cowl to radiator shell, and with the very deep grill shell/radiator surround, carry that taper thru to the front of the wide shell. Like a spear or an arrowhead. Looks a little too "blunt" compared to the rest of the body.

You're building it though and see it in the flesh, I'm just looking at a photo, and after all, it is your vision, so don't listen to me!

I'm glad to see progress, you're WAY ahead of me getting primer on. My Diamond T project is still in the endless sanding, filling, sanding, blocking, more blocking, more filler stage.

Racrdad, how bout using the pods on your grille for accent pieces and have a little small 5" chrome lights in front of them or recessed in a little bit. Kinda make like mini Imperial lights out of some diezt lights speedway sell the small chrome ones.

    I like the big, in-your-face four-light set-up.

The new lights have 60's show rod written all over them, and that's the look he was going for. I think they look great!

Regardless of my design opinion, if I were to see your car in a sea of cars, I'd spend plenty of time admiring the creativity and execution. Your decisions don't need defense... the car is cool as hell.

a '32 shell would look 'slapped-on' that car.

Its kind of an optical illusion I guess. The top set of headlight pods at the widest point are actually slightly narrower than the cowl. It is wide, I know, but not quite as wide in real life as it looks in the pics. There is a taper from the cowl to the top grille shell where the headlight pods meet the top panel on the shell.

Thanks to everyone for checking it out and providing your feedback. Got along way to go but I feel like I am seeing light at the end of the tunnel finally.

I have actually considered that, maybe recessing them slightly into the pods was exactly what I was thinking . It is an option I am keeping myself open to. I like your thinking!

I would suggest pushing the lower lights back a few inches. Get a bit of a forward lean going.

I always thought a cool 57 or 58 Plymouth, causes the body to stick. Export glad you use 4door life. Let me know what you got left ... seriously. Export to find the rear window trim. And what you have been

Holly dog balls man!!!! This thing is awesome!!!!!!! I can't even put into words how much I love this car!!!!!!!!!! I dig the quad lights too. Really gives it that 60s show car vibe for sure. I agree with James D (totally rhymed, unintentional) that the lower lights should be pushed back for a forward leaning stance. I can't wait to see more progress on this!!! Phenomenal work man!!

No, I havent been working on my mini truck, it is at Robleticias house right now getting a set of lambo doors installed. :D

Seriously though, no progress. Have had all 4 of my kids the past 6 days and with all their activities they keep me pretty busy. I should have some time this weekend and I am going to hit it hard and see what I can get done. Should have some progress to update Sunday night or Monday.

I managed to get some work done this weekend. Got the bodywork finished on both sides and the cowl then sprayed them in high build primer. Still a long ways to go but its getting closer.

RACRDAD.........Go easy on them arms with all that sanding, I don't want you to get burned out before its time to do the body work on mine! Looks really good, I need to get back over there and get my fix again. Oh, and by the way, your lambo doors turned out great!

My two cents. What would be awesome is replacing the '57 Plymouth styling back to the windshield. Of course the production unit is out of the question . It would be a hi dollar scratch made gl***, Upper part of the frame might be constructed from chopped and narrowed original Plymouth components. Some or all of stainless trim would also be used. Plenty of reworking. To complete the '57 theme , an ***ymetrical headlight pod like was done on Roth's Mysterion, made from stock '57 front end.
