Guys we have seen lots of pics of killer rods. What about some pics on the condition when you found them.I woulds like to see some of the treasures as they looked fresh from the woods or river beds. Thanks guys.
hehe, mine looks pretty much the way it did when i rolled it home, little less rust on it, and its a bit lighter (no front sheet metal and no floor) lmao
Still looks pretty much the same today. Hard to make progress when your job and other things keep you out of the garage. Plus, I've been working with the mechanical side of things, not the appearance.
My '52 poncho with the straight 8. It still looks like this, but it runs and drives. Anybody got a line on a '48-'54 GM split bench for a 2dr (folds forward)? I know shipping will be a ***** but I may get lucky with a relay or greyhound. swdobbs...
I don't want to hijack the post, but... It isn't a factory car, but a complete one off custom. It started off as a 4 door sedan...! Theres more pics here... http://www.standardmotorclub.org.uk/cars/vanguards/features/customv8.htm
for all the standard lovers... This is Chris Isaacs race car, thanks to our climate is was a basket case when he got it. The owners club got in contact with him and he told them exactly what he was doing to it, they were just happy it wasn't crushed. Has already run a 9.02/147 and Chris is now stepping the motor up ( from a 461 BBC to a 600ci lump ). As you can see effort went into keeping the car looking as stock as possible. sorry, no "before" shots! Pics courtesy of eurodragster.com - Excellent site.
my latest, as found, where found, right before loading it on the trailer to bring it home and one where it's at now, patch panels going in, in front of door tacked, behind door welded, bottom five or six inches will get replaced all the way around.
OK. Here is mine before and after. And I built it all at home using JB Weld, Marvel Mystery Oil, and 19 cans of John Deere Blitz Black.
Hmmm, that looks pretty good, I would change the grille though...have you ever thought of running a 32 grille?
Here's how it came from the swap meet. I guess from Oklahoma to Kansas. And here's what it looks like now. Not to different I guess.
You dad does pretty work, and with that Rover/Buick V-8 engine in it,that tiny thing should really scream.
