I got a 58 Edsel Corsair I wanna put front discs on I did the search and its seems like Granada spindles are what everyone used but im wondering if those work just on the smaller Edsel cars (Pacer/Ranger) and not on the bigger Edsels (Corsair/Citation)?

check out mp brakes! a friend has a '59 edsel ranger, everything from that supplier fit properly albeit tight.
the biggest thing is the 14' rims! the brake calipers had to fit inside
those rims or none of the original hubcaps will fit!
total cost was $1000.00 or so! man what a difference stopping a big boat edsel!!:D

You can use them on any of the Edsels. Its a great swap and one I will be doing in the near future. You have to modify the spindles just a bit, but its much cheaper and just as good as buying a disc brake kit.

One thing you may run into is the wheel bolt pattern. The Granada is 5 x 4.5, whereas it is likely your Edsel is 5 x 5 currently. Mercs of the '55 thru '60, I believe, were all 5 x 5. Edsels, on the other hand, varied through '58 to '60. I have seen various comments on the subject but no definitive source for the info. I currently have two Edsel 9" axles and a '57 Merc 9" and they are all 5 x 5. The thing is with the Edsels, I didn't remove them from the cars myself and do not know the specific model from which they came, unlike the Merc which I pulled.

My speculation (and that's ALL it is) is that the Ranger/Pacer Ford based models may have been 4 x 4.5 and the larger Corsair/Citation Merc based models were 5 x 5. Others claim it is dependent upon year model. "They" say all '58's were 5x5 and '59/'60 were 5 x 4.5. That is a possibilty.

If you have to change the wheels anyway to accommodate discs it may not matter on the front, but it will on the rear as you could easily have different wheel bolts patterns as a result. Just something to look into and plan for if necessary.

Just swapped over front spindles off a 78 Lincoln Continental pretty much perfect match and I get to keep the 5x5 bolt pattern!

You are correct. EDSEL used the MERC ch***is (CORSAIR/CITATION) and FORD ch***is (RANGER/PACER/WAGONS) in 1958 and exclusively FORD ch***is for 59/60.

I used 77 T-bird spindles on my 59. It was a bolt in. I ended up with too much positive camber and machined the upper control arms about a quarter of an inch thinner. I have had no issues in the last 6 years.
