Hi all, I have a tacho that I wish to use on my car first question is.. What is it off? And second how can I get it to work with a flathead mechanicaly not electronic? (I want to keep it fairly old school) (there should be a pic attached below)
Since it only goes to 4,000 rpm it probably came off a diesel truck. I'm not sure I understand what you mean about running it mechanically and not electronically...the tach is either mechanical or electronic, you can't use one for the other's purpose. Does it have a mechanical drive on the back, like a speedometer, or does it have screw terminals for wires?
Thanks for the quick reply, it is mecanical and I would rather keep it that way rather then installing a mech to electronic converter. Is there a drive or something of the like that I can use or adapt? Why is the readout in reverse? Would it be used along side another tacho for another motor to make reading the two easier??
I looks like it is sitting above two aircraft guages, but most aircraft tach's don't read that high -
Yeah that are aircraft guages, some others I've been messing around with I'm think about running them aswell.
