    Oh, one last thought ....

I'm guessing that you've already found the MEL Engine Forum, but if not, here is a link:

    The MEL Engine Forum

I haven't poked around the site at all, yet, but I did find this thread:

DIY010 Super Marauder Restoration, Instalation and tuning

Check out the picture of the restored engine in the 4th message in the thread! Is that thing cool looking or what?!

One of the guys who runs at El Mirage sells manifolds and such for MELs. I know he has an 8X2. Go on the Land Racing site and post an inquiry. Somebody will get back to you. He must be the guy who ran the "Heavy Metal" MEL powered Lincoln on the dirt.

    shmoozo,
Yes I have heard of that site and yes, I do belong to it. It's not really very active, mainly because it is dealing with MEL type engines, but I do get there now and then. I have seen that engine and it is VERY cool! I will post to that guy and see if he needed adapters for those Holleys. The guy who has the L300 tells me that speedway motors sells them.

That air cleaner/cover is also VERY rare.

I really would like to go with the L300 because it is uncommon and rare and if I can get it to perform well on the 430, all the better!

Thanks for the tip Rich, I will check it out as well.

Thanks for all the help guys. I'll keep y'all updated as I go. I hope it will prove to be a cool, and HOT build...lol

I finally found that intake I was looking for the other day. I was thinking about putting a set of dual quads on it...smaller, something like 390's or something.

This was on one of the threads named "Home made intakes"

I know this is a whole different ball game in making one...so I do need to do more research in designing it. I know I have heard that some of these things do work...just more food for thought

shifting gears here (no pun intended) as far as dual quads go, I'm ***uming the math will be different for the quad setup i.e. 2 390's would make for 780?
