Thought some of you large scale guys might be interested in one of my new projects. I've taken a glass 1/8th scale MF Willys coupe body, cut it up and mocked up a Willys woody. I'm also building one of the new TDR 6 liter SRT Hemi engines and it will go into the woody. I only post here ocassionally so if you want to follow both builds, I hang out on the MCM and SMC forums.
Here are some pic's of my other Willy's I started working on it earlyer last night and got this far, I decided to go a different way with it. I am planning on building a 426 hemi for it for a school art project and I also plan on having them entered at the puyallup fair this year. I am looking for more of the willys coupe's or either of the WCC r/c cars any help would be highly appreciated, I dont care if they dont work just want them for art projects.
I have a resin '32 3W that I'd like turn it into a replica of the Lil' Deuce Coupe... I would like to see a resin nose piece made for it... That be "really" nice..
I thought these pic's came out good and figured I would throw them on. I also made a b body non console pistol grip shifter for it
Thanks man. It's a lot of work (Time wise not effort) but it's worth it. I'm not a builder I'm kind of a parts supplier. I wish I could build like all the guy's on this thread but I just dont have the patients for it. As far as the lil deuce nose; I don't think its going to happen any time soon. I'm taking a chance on the Model A grill. These things cost a lot to make/cast only to sell a couple. If the demand is there then it would be different. The Hudson grill cost hundreds to produce and I have not made my money back yet. But I will. I'm not really into this for the money. I do it because I love cars & I like to create things. The money I do make pays for supplies & research & development.
Here's an 1980 sprinter I'm scratch building in 1/8 scale. This is a lot cheaper than building the real deal and it is fun. It is like most things; the more you do it, the better you get at it.
This just got here the other day. I saw it on ebay and had to have it. She came all the way from NY to CA .... built by Mike .... he's good yes?
HELL YEAH I like it... Problem is, the pics are taking forever to load up.. How about re-posting those with the manage attachment file?? Thanks!
How about some 37 Hudson headlights to go with the 37 Hudson grill? I cast the buckets using a rotational casting method there is nothing to trim. The parting line is right on the trim ring so once you pull off the little bit of flash, that's it. No gate, no vents, nada. As for the stands; I cast those on the grill itself so they have the same contour as the grill or I have flat one's as well. Let me know what you think. I glued one together & popped the lens in to give you an Idea what it will look like.
This is an off topic car this guy's building, but I think you all will appreciate the incredible skill and dedication he has put into this. http://public.fotki.com/bills69camaro/camaro-build/
Yeah, Bills 69 is insane nice. Looks as if you could turn the key & drive it away. True it is OT but any car guy would have to admit that is one kool a$$ model. I consider it a work of art not a model. From what I understand he wants to offer it in kit form some day. The attention to detail is by far the best I've ever seen. Definitely worth a look or 2 or 3. Every time I look at it I notice something different. So go give it a look; you wont be disappointed.
: Oh.. sorry man for the mistake It looks like the polymer clay that I use and I made the mistake of not reading your post more carefully...
That's a long drive in 1/8th scale miles.QUOTE=296 V8;6568229]This just got here the other day. I saw it on ebay and had to have it. She came all the way from NY to CA .... built by Mike .... he's good yes? [/QUOTE]
