I know everyone wants to see how there car would look like with this or that- but lately every second post is a photoshop request. I love doing them- and **** I even posted one a few months ago for my car, but I though the board was strictly for tech stuff. No "off topic" stuff was permitted. Ryan why not make a fourm just for photoshop stuff? Just my worthless Canadian 2 cents
Every few months there's a spate of Photochop posts, has been since 2002...they go away, I used to do a lot of them...I dont have a problem cos I know a lot people actually do what gets photoshopped. *insert 2c here* Cheers MKK
just did one so I'll defend: I think they're on topic because they are related to the building process. They help those of us with no photoshop skills get a visual of what's in our head so we know if we should proceed down that path or go back to the drawing board. That being said, you have a good suggestion with making a special area for it, but it does create more work for the boss.
I think it has helped people see there is something other than black primer and red wheels. My $ .02 Besides, it helps me keep my skills up.
Yeah, and guys like 4t64rd are nice enough to spend a little time and effort to help a HAMB bro/sis out. Thanks Again!
well I did get my wheels I had 'shoped on. the paint is coming in anothe rmonth or so. I think it was a big help to me to help see what I was thinking. I am starting to think we need an OT forum fo rthe photoshop, event posts, ebay opinions and such....this would need to be a car topic forum only though.
i like photoshop posts i think they are good because they show a better picture of someones' idea rather than the person just describing it with words also they give me something to do when im bored
I am a little biased, too. I use the photoshop skills of some HAMBers to help visualize how paint and mods may look. It especially helped on my wifes Shine-o-Matic '58. We had a hard time describing ideas to each other, but BLAKE, Slide and other HAMBers knew what I was talking about. They helped pick colors and lay out the scallop design. Here is the photoshop on our white '58, and 2 of the final paint. I really appreciate guys taking time to photoshop other's cars. It can be as important as answering a tech question, to me.
I love to look at what others think look good on a car. My Cad was photochopped when I first joined on and that was a huge reason I choose the paint scheme I did. I like doing them also, just don't have time always to help out. I think it helps a ton to be able to visualize different wheels, paint shemes and stances. I think as long at the ***le of the post clearly states that it is a photochop request you can just p*** over them if you are bored with them. I say keep'em coming.
I really appreciate guys taking time to photoshop other's cars. It can be as important as answering a tech question, to me. Very Nice Ride! ... and I couldnt agree with you more!
This guy should have used photoshop before he got this far http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4543589824&category=6221
way of from this post, but Buzzard what color is that gold i love it! ive been leaning towards gold on my f-100 lately and that looks really nice... and photoshop is a good thing....paint, etc. can make or break a car and a quick photoshop is a lot cheaper than repainting or worse screwing up a car with a bad body mod....
Well, howz'bout a 2" chop on this? And another one with a Carson style top? aaaaand, one more with this lift-off top? well, ya said ya love doing them !
Well, I think if the car being 'shopped is a traditional hot rod or custom candidate, then I think it's on topic. I also agree that 'shopping cars helps you visualize ideas better before diving in and hoping for the best. Some people know and have the skills to visualize something in their head and build it and it comes out dead on. Others need to see their ideas first before deciding. Still others have no clue and look for other people to design a paint scheme or chop or whatever for them. It's all good in my book and I love seeing variations from different people on the same car. To me photo shop is as important as desktop dyno in building a custom car. The desktop dyno is the computer tool to make it perform, and photoshop is the computer tool to make it look cool.
I know, I previewed and edited that thing about six times! It's still screwy... ...but HAMBrs are sharp-they'll finger it out.
decent idea- but I feel its more ON topic. I Initiall proposed this phantom car here and it was submitted back in several photoshop variations and I did build it as a result of the albeit[sp?] mixed input.........
HOK Spanish Gold. It's Orion Silver base with the Gold Candy and Dark Gold Flake. Barnett outlined it with a mix of orange and magenta. We looked at the HOK Pagen Gold as well. And I like the PT Cruiser special edition color Inca Gold. Best of luck. Picking colors is tough.
I think photoshop helps people see thier cars in a different light and I think they help on the decision making when a car is on the line to be bought or not.\ I vote NO on the separate section.
i'm somewhat in favor of it, just because it would be easier to keep track of the photoshop post. Imagine if the clasified adds were mixed in with the normal post... it would be hard to find them. I kinda feel the same way about photoshop post... it's hard to find them sometimes, unless I add them to a subscribed list or something.
Is it to hard for not to click on a photoshop request especialy when you highight a post you get the jist of it anyway. Why in the hell would we need an extra section for photoshops. Then well need a seperate section for white wall cleaning. then a section for asking what a rat rod is, and which magazine gets your *****s in a wad. Taking this **** way too seriosly the rules said the rules said ooh ooh teacher. If its a boot traditional cars photoshoped or real it belongs here.
hey guys, i've got an idea, why not just have a separate forum for all the **OT** posts that gets deleted every week. That way the main hamb forum can stay as it should always be. Danny
