Exterior hinges on a Model A trunk?

    I would like to hear about, and see pictures of any Model A coupes using exterior trunk hinges instead of Henry's original side hinges. What did you use and how much work was it to get them parallel, braced and fitted? Many thanks.

    I'm interested in this post as well. Seems you don't see exterior hinges much anymore. I thought it used to be a fairly common practice. Maybe its not considered traditional.

    check out 35-6 hump back hinges.... cool and short!

    I think these were slantback hinges I bought off Ebay.

  6. I used 49 Ford hinges on my Roadster... they held up pretty good under heavy acceleration they'd flap a bit... it would help if I had a decent latch!

    However coupes have a smaller panel on top of the deck lid and can't use the long style.

    check with a marine supplyer. some nice stainless stuf .

    I got mine off the internet, I think they are late 30s chevy.

    Yes there were a lot of rods with them and I like to see them on certain build styles...very cool IMO
