Hey, wondering if anyone on here could possibly help me. im trying to peice together a 1933-34 chevy coupe all i have now is the body. im curious if the coupe/truck and sedan ch***is is all the same or will it not fit under my coupe?
Coupe and sedan are the same ch***is as long as they are the same model. Standard or Master. Truck is not. If I remember right 33 and 34 Master are different wheelbase.
how can i tell the difference between master and standard and thanks for the info i have a coupe body, and theres a 34 chevy 4 door sedan on craigslist but pretty beat up...if its ch***is works for my coupe then it would be great for parts.
First we need a pic of the car to determine what the actual year is. There is the 33 Mercury and the 33 standard. Then there is the 34 standard and the 34 Master. The 34 Master had a longer front end to it. Do you have the hood to the car? If you do does it have chrome strips along the edge of the hood louvers or holes where one existed? Dash picture would help also. The 35 standard was also like the 34 standard.
In 33 Chevy had the Mercury/Standard and the Master series. Early in the production of the Mecury series they removed the vent window. They were just called Standard or Master never were really called the Mercury series very much.
I think what Lowcab wanted to say is the Mercury ( was introduced late 33 ) turned into the standard in 34-35. On the dash, if the gauges are in the middle it's a std. If they are in above the steering column and there is a glove box it's a master.
Here goes with a 34. The 35 Standard had x-member similar to a 34 Master. This is a photo of it as well. Master had knee action F/E and Standard had parallel leaves with axle.
Master had knee action front suspension and standard hae straight axel, if no suspension on frame look for the pearch mounts for the springs of the straight axel.
