I just found that i need a new wheel cylinder for my '53, ofcourse i learn this after rebuilding it. Searching online I went to: - NAPA's website- $79.99 - Rock auto- $50.99 - Ebay motors- $99.99 pair - Autozone- $29.99 I figured hell, for that price I may as well buy 2 and not have to worry about the other side. In the old days I'd just call around my local parts store and spend the money.
I hear ya.the internet rocks.my problems is that I go off on tangents when looking for stuff, parts, cars etc...next thing you know a couple hours have gone by.
Just be aware that they guy that you see begging for money at the bottom of the off-ramp might have previously worked at your local parts store. All actions have consequences, even some you don't intend.
I get a lot of my parts on line. My olds gaskets were well over 200 bucks anyplace I looked even @ NAPA with my discount. But I found that one of the l=fellas on here had the same gaskets for about 40 dollars less. Sometimes you just got to shop around. Good advice
I do alot of shopping online, then pick it up at the local store. NAPA's website was the best until they changed it recently to more like checkers. NAPA's site used to let you shop for parts without specifying a vehicle. You could just shop for brake light switches, for example. Look at the pictures and get the one you want for your project. You can't do that anymore, so I guess it's goto the store and bother the counter guy by pulling every thing out until you find what you want.
