I'm searching online for some 16" tires for my coupe. I want to run blackwall 7.50/5.50's.

I'm seeing prices for Firestones on Coker's site and wondering, is that where everyone is buying from? Or are there other places that are more cost effective? Other more cost effective brands than Firestone?

Feel free to post up pics of what you're running too.

Thanks, any info would be great. I just want to make sure I get the best value I can.

    Opinions?

  2. I bought mine from the Farmer's coop in Firth, Nebraska. They rin me about a buck a piece delivered to my door. 7.50x16

Looked at old post it cost me about 15 bucks to ship I didn't remember I guess. Short term memory first to go, that's whay I plan everything a year in advance then its not short term anymore and I don't forget.

Coker Tire is about as good as it gets but I also like Universal Tire in PA. They had a couple other choices that Coker didn't have. I have had good experiences with both.

I bought mine from a place called "Sumpthin'-Sumpthin' Tire store. I forgot the name because the last set of bias plys I bought was in 1978. Kelly Superchargers... L-50-15's out back and G-60-15's up front

after shipping and all, summit seemed to beat everyone by about 80$ . i got two 650x16 and two 750x16 firestone blackwalls with the pie crust for about 680 for all four. the other places might sell them a few bucks cheaper but eat you up in shipping. think the handling charge was 12$ for summit. think it was 100+ if i went through coker

Hector at Coker in Fresno is the man. He had everything I needed, got the tires mounted quick, and really knew his stuff. Plus he is a HAMBer, too.

Shooter, I'd start with the tire store you deal with for you O/T cars and trucks and see what they can come up with. And see what price that they can get. But have the prices for the tires from Coker, Universal and any other online or mail order tire outlet in your notes to compare. the local Les Schwab or Tire Factory stores here can get a guy about anything he wants but I don't know how the prices compare.

yup, coker bought 750-16 blackwalls and was happy. also bought a whitewall for my panhead, at your door quick too. i shopped around and couldn't find any real steals on bias-ply stuff.

  14. Join the Alliance and buy from Coker to take advantage of the discount. My savings last year were more than the cost of the Alliance membership!

Jim's right. If you are buying from Coker, get a membership first. Unfortunately, Coker is really the only place to get fresh vintage bias tires --they make them!
Summit, Speedway, buy them from Coker too.
You could maybe find them second hand at a swap meet or online. But you'll still need tubes, and you are back at Coker again! I gave up looking elsewhere.
