DAY ONE of the ROUND UP was Thursday... We drove from the REMOTE regions of Cold Minnesota to Warm Sunny DALLAS.

We got back WED and I've been playing chatch up from our week off-

Jolene is finally done with her Year active with the Air Force and it was our first trip to anything since she flew home... So I was really looking forward to the trip.

She needed to be back earlier so we drove seperate from Bleed- and I felt really BAD for leaving him drive alone -- So I didnt actually relax untill we were there and I knew Bleed and the cars made it A-OK.

From the point that we rolled into Dallas I knew the weekend was gonna RULE...

We stopped in at Mark X's shin-dig and checked out the new shop that Honest Charlie/ Bass and Mark are rippiing shit up in. Thanks for the great Texas Hospitality...

    - that night it went from mexican food to the PO PO haha- the police were gonna haul someone off... and they almost took Charlie. The Huston Police dont play.

    Danger Danger.

It was a cool ass place and all the hambers we met there RULED.
I thought Kartbreaker was Cheater Chris's lost brother haha.
It was great getting to know guys here before the show because we had time to talk cars.. and paint...

I couldve gone home after thursday and been totally content we had so much fun... and there were some kick ass cars there (I wish I could remember all the hambers names but my brain is DEAD today)--- I took pics of brians bikes and his coupe in the background.

I loved the engine bay on his shoe.

Charlies truck had some issues and didnt make the show but here are some pics of the new finish and chop... This truck ruled and so did Charlie. He hooked us up with the latest shop rag and a scull shifter... I didnt take that many pics but im glad I snaped any at all... \

We crashed that night with EVEL and drove to Austin Friday in a caravan of hot rods.

    More to come...

Friday was 90MPH to Austin with plenty of stops on the way to gas up and eat... IT was crazy.

Mark X picked up and drug some construction cones down the freeway, the semi's wind was kicking them around--- it was chaos.

But we managed to get there.

We made it to the Congress and it was OVERLOAD. We met up with Bleed/Laura/Max Wedge and the gang and took it all in.

I've never met so many KOOL hambers as I did on this trip... I was taken back by it.

All we did was talk HOT RODS.
Thats all I ever want to do.
and we did it all damn day... I think I talked to JAMES WHITE for a couple hours alone about the "details" and how he uses a ball hitch to make those cool recessed tapered holes in his sheetmetal haha. yeah right--- Those cars were pure.

did you know JIM A's in his 20's... haha

Bleed and I walked into the Continental Club and I was like dude... thats that dude from the "STRAY CATS" ... I thought it was Brian Setzer at the bar.. Bob turned around and said really FUCKIN LOUD. "THATS TOTALLY NOT THE DUDE FROM STRAY CATS" and everyone turned around and looked hahhahaha I turned around and walked right outta there trying not to bust out. I knew I recognised him but was like from WHERE?? haha

The dude... was Johnny Reno the SAX player. He was in one of my alltime FAVORITE UNDERGROUND MOVIES called Roadracers with Salma Heyek and David Arket.... WTF... he RULED.

Later that night I got a chance to talk to him- haha We got to hear all the inside JIVE on the movie... it was sureal... and that motherfucker can play the sax.

So typeing this I cant keep the nights straight... haha. Shaun Young played either Fri or sat? ok FRI- haha and he RULED. (I LOVE YOUR NEW CD ) We snapped a couple pics and I think that was it... no more pics of the show. IT was so much fun...

The incident with Laura Bleed and the short greaser dick ruled... Bob Marry her NOW. haha.

Savage and I were on it- SECURITY FORCES.

Buzzard came up to me and said... "your the most famous kanadian since Wayne Gretzke" haha... Buzzard is a RULER. I grined and lauged so much the first day there my cheeks hurt.

    We seriously had a BLAST.

Sat the day of the show...

We woke up in a mad RUSH haha and let JOLENE sleep in.

Savage EVEL and I were on it- awake at 7:30 am.

We got to the show and EVEL set up his Mad BOOTH, right between Franco and Weesner... both of these guys I've wanted to meet...

Both of these guys are beyond COOL, down to earth artists. Thank GOD.

    It was like PROOF.

I brought my shoebox dash down for Franco to stripe, I had wanted him to do it since 99 when I was in college haha... and we managed to fit the dash in the car with us. I had this idea that I wanted a number of pinstripers to do different parts of the car... and it has begun.

So we brought the dash in and put it in the back of Beatnik Kontinentals Caddy... when he seen it he said WHEW' its painted, I'm sick of stripeing primered dashs haha. It was in there hands now...

and I was takeing in the show...

    BUT WHERE WAS JOLENE haha????
Stuck at the HOTEL- she hitched a ride with BUBBA in the Green Bean.

    SO the BLURRRRR had begun.

Flyrite guys and all the other hamber venders I met, house O speed etc.. RULED. I hardley walked around and looked at cars...

Blue Bear bought us all Alagator hahahaha that kid RULES. THE KID, Johnny Jean Jacket showed up with his rocket DOLL from AZ.

Scratch showed me how to stripe like they did in the wild west... FAST
Dan Barnett stole my Hat ha-

I guess... for the most part.... all I want to say is THANK YOU to all the kick ass people we met and the GREAT HOSPITALITY... EL JEFE and crew you guys put on an AWESOME show.

Bleed playing at the CLUB was Crazy as HELL. I'm still in AWE when they play... the Etta james song RULED.

Sunday at flyright RULED ALL... what can I say??? EVEL left me his IPOD and I stole all the songs off of it... hahahahahaha EVEL RULES.

Monday we harassed FatLucky and Collet- They are an awesome pair... Bleed, Sean and I need to start a shop together.

Then Bleed, the kid, jolene and I drove johnnys linc to Beatniks place where Franco was stripeing my dash- by now it was dry...

we showed up in the afternoon... and Franco told us some of the coolest stories. It was too cool. Heres pics on the seats Fatluckys stiched for the shoebox.. and my pearled out dash that franco finished VOODOOHEX style[tm]

Franco you're a real Beatnik- I LOVE the dash-

When we got back I was so WOUND UP from the ROUND UP...

    stuff started to Happen.

Our internet was down, knocked out in a big ass storm and I didnt get it fixed untill Friday Night last week. On my way back from the ISP's with all new equipment...
I went to the junk yard on a whim, it was PRE DESTINED.

I found this full set of SW guages in a forklift... in mint shape.

I bought F-1 pedals for the roadster... and as we were cutting them out I walked up to a pickup and peered inside...

what did I see??? but some bad ass 60's guages.

    I'm like DUDE.

So I go to the front, are they for sale?
nope just sold that truck to that guy.

I go up to the guy and say dude, will you sell those guages out of that truck.
hes like I HATE THOSE GUAGES but...
    my buddys spoken for them.

so then this other guy said hey, why dont you sell them to TUCK and split the money haha.
    and it was ON.

    Wierd how that works.

so heres what I ended up with.

the chev dash im just starting to play with-- I need to get the roadster body blasted this week but its been raining non stop.

I sectioned it and streched the ends and will run the head pods back into the deck.

I'm going to make a bubble lens for the front of these and sweep them back along the frame.

I'm gonna plaster form and fiberglass the headlight pods and make some kind of grill/spreader bar that'll make the headlights "look" like bumperettes.

Tuck it was great to get to see you again although so so brief. I am glad it was everything you and Jolene hoped for. Sounds like you had a killer time and glad you were able to hang around a few days to enjoy Austin after the masses departed. Franco is the best and has left his mark all over Austin. Dash looks great. I can't wait to see that roadster put together. Diggin' the direction. Come back and visit anytime our doors are always open to you.

    Here I is Tucker...

    Sorry

I haven't had much of a chance to get on and tell stories of my Trip..

I wanted to thank everyone for driving me around in Texas.. It was a great time..

Everyone was really cool down there except the guy with the knife..

Ha ha ha . After Joleen dropped me off at the airport I waited in line for like 45 minutes . I got up to the front and the lady was like . No I think you have the wrong airline. I had and e ticket and my printer was down..
The weirdest thing was I flew there on one airline and my trip home was on another. With a mad dash to catch my flight I made it home..

I had a great time. Thanks for everything guys. Hope to come back again..

Not sure what all happened with that duct tape ball but when I went into Evels room Sat. night to see if they needed a ride to the club, he was behind the bed about to zing that thing at my head.

    Quote from Evel.

Sorry dude, I thought it was Bob.

Tuck it was good to meet you.You guys should come back for the drags in the fall. Crowd is smaller but the shenanigans are about the same.Austin is always a good time.

Evel loves me..... damn it I need a new duct tape ball.

The coolest part about the round up was there was no Hokey Ass Hamb Meet... It just was what it was. No group hugs.
