Maybe Im not doing this right but here is my question. I have a stock 39 Ford coupe. What would be the best bang for the buck first modification on the v-8, Headers, alluminum heads. Im assuming the single 97 is fine until more mods are done. What do you think? Does anyone make a tach that works with 6-volts?
This old post contains my summary of bolt-on hopping of a stock 239...I think I pulled it from the '55 or 6 HRM yearbook, and it came from Car Craft about '54 or '55. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16426&highlight=flathead+power&showall=1
Thanks guys thats a big help! The car is so stock and is the most perfect car I have ever purchased. It was built and painted buy a guy in his home garage, its the nicest black paint Ive seen. My partner is a painter and he had a hard time finding fault with the paint. But...cant just leave something alone!
I would run headers with dual exhaust and try to leave the flatty alone. You will have lots of time to tinker on it but drive it while ya can.
