I was curious as to if i would be able to use the threespd thats in there...I really like the colum shift ...so i am trying to find the info on that trans and bolt patterns ans such...any help wpuld be awesome...I want to keep the thrid pedal So i know there has to have been another hamber that has done this or wanted to...
yeah thats a concern with me also...the tube that is...I just really want to keep the 3 on the tree for the life I me...thanks for the info so far.
I would try to find a 55 to 57 Chevy donor car. You know.......4 door, rusty as all get out and cheap........but with the 3 speed and and the rear end. Use the open drive 3 speed from the donor car and the rear end...... Lots of other stuff to be grabbed up too.....driveshaft, V8 starter, brackets and such....... .
I put a 55 Chevy 3 speed behind the 6cyl. in my 54. The shifter arms were a little bit off and needed some modifications, if I remember correctly they weren't long enough. So I put a floor shift on it. But I think the arms could easily be modified. The only problem is the shifter arms and the V-8 might have some interference problems. Still have the ******, and I want to get rid of it if you are interested. Geno
Use the walton fab kit for the trans and motor mounts, get the adapter for you column shifter from Kugal componets , check out bowtieoverdrives.com ...PM me if you want a whole list of stuff I used on my swap
