Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by s10ace, May 7, 2011.

  1. Did't see any mention to the Rhinebeck NY car show and swap meet. Did anyone go? I did. I got there at 8:00 am and didn't finish till 1:45 pm and as we were leaving it started to rain. Alot of good stuff. Got some good deals.

We hit the flea market Saturday a bit after 7:00, the meet just felt odd this year, started slow, vendors were missing, late to uncover things. Same cars in the show as last year, car corral offerings were so so. I bought a choise pair of 1954 Chevy front fenders, just because they were there and I'd be crazy to walk by them.

  8. Yeh, I agree. The vendors had a slow start. or they were out shopping. I say a pair of 40 Chev frame rails I wanted. The vendor wasn't there. Waited and waited and figured I'd stop back, but that was 4 hours later. Still no vendor and the rails were gone. Well just have to keep looking. More pictures!

I believe that $8,500 on the '32 5Window is correct, looked like a 1960's build that never got finished.

I was vending and sold a lot of my junk saturday was good today was terrible I don't waste my time selling on Sunday just walking around and seeing friends. BBQ and coolers were working overtime on Saturday though. The original owner and builder of my restored MG race care came up, they are old friends of mine ane it was the first time Dave Daly (owner) saw the car in 40 years. The smiles on everyones face, "Priceless"

012 Dave Daly on left Willie the Welder Feyh on right
013 Yours truly on left, Dave and Willie

  14. I saw those rails next to the Ford. The guy said some else bought them and was parking them there till he was ready to leave. I left my name and phone with the Ford owner to give to the guy. I have a rolling running ch***is, which I hate to tear apart for my vintage mod. The rails would save alot of labor. I was right on those at 8:30 but the vendor was no where and by the time I came back they were parked next to the Ford.

    Heres some more pics:

I own the 32 five window. I had a sign saying $8,500. on the door and "make me an offer" no one did. It is located in Central NY State, 30 miles south of Utica/I 90 and 60 miles north of Binghamton off route 12. 40 miles east of Syracuse. I would take considerably less than $8,500 but no one has made an offer. Call me if interested 315-749-4649.

I brought this 51 ford sedan to sell cheap, still brought it home. Fibergl*** hood, buncha parts, rearranged 59 thunderbird grille bars to fit, radiator set up for sbc/sbf

I was there on Saturday. I ended up buying enough junk to make it worth the trip, but I agree that it started out slow. I left around 1:30, just as the sprinkles started.

  29. Does any one know who bought the 40 Chevy frame rails at the swap meet? If you did do you need a rolling Ch***is or other parts?
