Was this a Monterey? The odd paint lines on the roof make it look like it. Either way that was a great score for $800 Good deals can be had on the internet every day, but you gotta be ready for them. A 20 minute eBay listing is a great example.

  18. Great buy... got it cheap and you know where all her problems are they are not bondo'd over.

i don't know if you plated the sides as well on the frame but you need to. it will want to flex on you right on the joint of the two frames. it happened to me on my first one i did. i plated the sides with some thick plating and ran it like a foot on each side of the joint and also pug welded them it tightened the frame right up and no more flexing. just trying to help

  28. A '51 Coupe for $800....THAT"S JUST CRAZY!!!!! After seeing what flamedabone started with,it pretty much killed guys from thinking ANYTHING can't be saved. Looks like you have a great plan. I don't think you're in the HAMB Merc Club yet. I'll check, and if you aren't i'll add you on there. Good luck and keep posting your progress. Put a pic or two on the thread also.

  29. Just added you to the Merc Club. You're #413. Add a pic of your car on there, please!!!!
