Dragstrip Reunion SHELTON WA! 7-30-31-05

Thats right, we are working hard to bring back the Shelton Dragstrip that closed in 1967. We are still in the early stages of putting this together but heres what we are trying to organize for the weekend of 7-30-31, a weekend of dragracing with alot of the oldtimers, a carshow geared toward pre 70's, and maybe an evening at the local drive in with a group of our favorite hot rod movies. A full weekend deal that with some good weather and a little luck should be alot of fun! I will post more later as things progress. Rick

Someone on the old HAMB posted pics of an abandoned strip I think in Puyallup?? Anyone got those pics? It was all grown over, pretty hard to find...

Old beet-- I didn't make it to Arlington but I have heard that it went REAL well! Were you involved in putting that together?

How far is Shelton from Vancouver, WA? If it isn't super far we will definitely be there!

 

Buy a map. It's not that far. Once you get there you can kick my ass for being a smart ass. That alone 'll be worth the trip and you'll have a great time.

This sounds like a real hoot. I'll be watching for more info and updates. I went to the Shelton Drive-In several times last year. One of the few drive ins left with functional speakers you hook on your car window. I feel cheated when I have to tune in the movie on the car radio. Also.. the snack bar there kicks ass.

 

Ha Ha. You are so funny. Anyhow, I talked to the old man, and he let me know where it is. We are trying to get our Bantam gasser done by summer, so hopefully it will be ready!

Hahaha, my wife grew up in Olympia and she said the Shelton drive in used to be on of the only outdoor porno theaters in the country. I guess it ran for years and they used to sneak in all the time in high school

I never saw any porno there at the Shelton drive in. Strictly family veiwing last season. Now I feel cheated again... I'm trying to imagine what a 50 foot vagina might look like...
