So...what year El Camino did you pick up on??? Have you posted any pics of it yet? Like to see em' if possible. Also dig the Lunar Lander.

Nevermind, I see it. What's your plans for it?

I look at that little car and I kinda have to laugh.

Not because it's funny looking, but I can just see the kind of guy that would drive it around. :D Awesome project, great metalwork, you're a helluvan artist.

    So cool!

You got a wicked eye for combining parts and getting the proportions right.

It's begging for some sort of outlandish 60's showrod kinda grill surround - like maybe something that incorporates the headlight bezels out of the Olds which you stole the back off of. Just to kinda tie it all together front to rear.

If'n ya put a bubble top on it - then you could call it the Oldsmobubble ;)

I'm picturing a low profile bubble top with a chopped look.
Either way i'm sure it will be cool as hell.

What about a canopy from a WWII fighter? Can you even still find those?

  9. The way I understand it, you can make a bubble top buy sandwiching a sheet of plexi under a template -- you heat the exposed part of the plexi and then force compressed air under the form. Moriarity explains it better in Mad Fabricators DVD #2.

I think it needs a double bubble. Go behind the barris shop and strip the batmobile of its bubbles.

Looks great! I thought you were nuts when you first posted the pics hacking off the back of that more door olds. But now I see your vision coming together, and I like it!

What mill you running? It looks like it should have something giant, like a hot wheels car. :D

I wouldn't mind having this thing running by the end of summer. We will just have to see what the finances have in store.

Right now I am building a new deck on the house, so the car is on the back burner. It is hard to build a deck when you get home and you only have about 30 minutes of daylight left. I get a few boards up a day. Eventually I will run out of boards and will have a deck.

  27. To be "Period Correct" wouldn't it be Salmon?

    Looking good man.
    I'm seeing the Wasp/bug look.
Maybe play with some Black Pearl with Blue/Green Flake accents.....?

    It's your ride for sure.

  28. Oh god, one of my favourites of all time already!

    (double bubble sounds good..hehe)

I love the shit you build.

    Cheers
