Little Honker and The Lump on the way... Might have a few surprises and some "pop" up our sleeves... Push trucks needed, PM me See you fellas in the staging lanes... TH
after 2 years of 'almost ready', i can now promise a p*** in the catalina. it runs and it'll be there...
well, hell.... i might have to force momma fiddy to run the bidniz while i get the ha/gr ready to run... lol
That will rule out a lot of our oddball vintage engine/****** setups. Will you allow fabricated 1/4" thick shields like the SCTA does with these combos?
Come on out ryan... pope and some of the east side guys are plannin on goin, trying to drag john out there with his injected ch***is research car too...gimme a text this week... Cant wait to see everyone... HAMB drags are the best... and it is at the most KILLER TRACK they could possibly be at... TH
Bump again. I need to figure something out for sure. The less intrusive the better. I fully understand the need but am not sure of my options for my stock-ish 283.
I know that this may be a dumb question, but: For a car that is running 80mph in the 1/4, do you still need the ****tershield? I know that the person last year that had the HA/GR that toasted his fly-wheel, he was not running slow. Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but with guys that are driving in from across the country & just want to make a couple (if even that) down the track and will not be HAMMER-ing it down the track.....Is the ****ter shield mandatory? Oh yea, and for those guys that say "Yea, my car will not do 80mph & turn a 100mph plus run", I would guess that they would be "red flagged". Just something to think about.
I can hardly wait but I have a lot to do before then. While the coupe has a steel faced aluminum flywheel and an abbreviated shield, I'll be leaving her home this year. Hard to do as I've had her at each HAMB Drags so far. Some years back I did blow up a pressure plate which came out of the bell so I added the abbreviated shield. It would need some work before I'd feel ok about teching that shield. I will have the digger there, ready to run, towed by the 59 Plymouth Suburban. The Plymouth is getting an engine/trans swap so she'll be up for the task as well. I'd better get busy!
I'm hoping the answer to that is "HELL NO!". The track and host hotels are fine. Joplin is going to need tourism, money etc. in the coming months. The storm is all the more reason to GO.
And TIP WELL when you are eating out in Joplin. The person that serves you will need it more now than ever.
Now why in the world would you want to do that? The city of Joplin will need our monatary support at the hotels, restaurants, gas stations, party stores, etc this year more then ever.
Anyone going from this end of the country? I have the front half of a T touring car & Dodge cowl that I need to get back to Knoxville, TN. JH
Earl Sheib goes every year but he normallys buys a HUGE truck bed stuff of stuff at the Springfield swapmeet that weekend so not sure if he'd want to haul anything back thats not his own but it doesn't hurt to ask. Say, why don't you attend? You'd have a BLAST!
