restoration of a carbody

    i have an old russian made jeep called gaz 69 and i will be rebuilding the body allmost from topp to bottom , and the rear panels of it are some of an issue they are what i think you call a inlay about 9 mm deep . and i need to remake this just the question is how should i do it i was thinking of making it from sheet metal cut out what should be 9mm lower than the rest and make a z like thing from sheet metal to conect the outer and inner part **** weld it with one inch a part seam seal it and prime it put some fiberglas puddy over the seamseal and paint it . what do you guys think any ideas on other ways to do it .

    use a bead roller, or hammer form it.

    Do you have access to some plywood. a band saw and a hydraulic shop press? You can make die that will form that.

    ok was thinking about using a steel plate 9 mm thick fore the die.
