Looks like a cool car, but a 342 hp Edmunds engine? Never heard of one of those. Maybe my Stude 245-6 with Edmunds head and intake is now an 120 hp Edmunds motor.

  6. How sweet it would of been to win that!!!!!!! Also to go to that show at the Armory. Hmm I would sure like to read more about what Eddie did to that mill.

Holy Smokes that would be an awesome win. Also curious as to what became of the car.

I did attend that show, and used to have an 8 x 10 promotional photo of that car that came with a magazine subscription. No idea what became of the car, though.

It would be so cool if somebody would know what happened to this car.

Perhaps the guy who won it was not really into Custom Cars... and he never showed it, parked it in his garage and sold it when he got tired of it. I hope one day we will find out. I have tried hard to find anybody who knew this guy, but so far no luck.

Here is another photo of the car...

and another one.. I really like this view.

What really amazes me about this car is that I consider it be quite a happening that a car like this built by the Top names in 1952 including Barris, Carson Top Show and Edmunds, and that none of the big magazines Like Hop Up, or Hot Rod did show the car being given away or mentioning the lucky winner.
Hop Up did a nice three page feature on the car, and it would be only natural to do a follow up after the show. But nothing...

So I was very thrilled to find the very small announcement of the the winner of the Give Away Caddy in the (two) weekly news paper Motor Sports World.
So now we can finally put a name with the car.

It almost seams to me that the owner did not want any publicity with his name in it. Motor Sports World newspaper/magazine was a sponsor for the show, and possibly also for the car. So they most likely insisted in publication of the winner Lawrence Kilty.

There are 2 Lawrence Kiltys' listed on whitepages.com and they are between the ages of 65 and 80, maybe I should give them a call later, who knows might end up with some info or a cadillac that been sitting for 40+ years....

It will generally give you an age range when that info is available, like if I check my grandparents name it give a 65+ below their adress.

Kind of Scary the info you can get these days

Seems like mr kilty was a business agent in the cartoon movie industry...so chances are he was not a hardkore kustom enthusiast. But I guess an elegant custom made Cadillac wasn't a bad choice of daily transportation in Hollywood

Perhaps this info will help to trace him down, and ask what happen to the car... if he still is alive.
