I have heard this too, but have no experiance with it..dam i would hate to make the wrong move and pay dearly for it... I have been very satisfied with Rotella..and its very easy for me to get my hands on , because i run it in all my companies trucks and Semi's I also get a killer deal on it because I buy it in the gallons..in gallon cans, and 5 gallon buckets, used to get it in a 55gallon drum..still might have one 55 gal drum still around here
Uhhh, maybe I`m dumb or missing something but I just called my buddy at the parts store and synthetic is over $8 @qt case price so the rebate says up to $50. So you don`t get a free case just 1/2 priced after rebate. Is anyone else getting that situation out of this deal?
Agreed...it is overstated. The fine print says '6 quarts, or a case', so...even at $8/ea, you could still get 6 quarts at least. Amazon has it for $61/case http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846 so you could do that and end up only paying $11. Think that's the right stuff...doesn't explicitly say synthetic though.
The trick is to read and research, not listen to old wive's tales and witchcraft/voodoo logic. This is an "off-road" syn with proper levels of ZDDP for flat-tappet cams, not subject to the low-ZDDP regs for late models with cat converters For "the rest of the story", read here- which, BTW, was right there under "LEARN MORE" on the rebate offer page. So now you have a choice of two good ones from Valvoline that are safe for early engines with flat-tappets, a dino and a syn http://www.valvoline.com/products/consumer-products/motor-oil/racing-motor-oil/8
thats ok,, I dont take to change too well...you know, old and set in my ways..Been using rotella for so many years with absoluty no problems..I have no reason to change, im old and hard headded that way..so thats probably why i didnt bother to learn, or read further, Thanks Though although i may not p*** up a deal like this for other engines i have I like old wifes tails ..im an old husband...you say that like its a bad thing

This stuff should work fine in my 87 Silverado since it will not need a catalytic converter come January. Seems right in my logic. What do you guys think? If nothing else it will be good to have around for other projects and activities.
I got two cases at NAPA (I have 2 addresses) and they were confused as well. They have VR1 oil, but it's not synthetic. Nobody else around here carries it either. **** it then, I'll return mine, get my money back and have nothing
Done deal. 6 qts of 20/50 & a can of STP will work fine in my Blown & Injected Fuel Motor,,,on a stand.
