Ad me to the list of "welcome backers". Cancer is a wicked, evil curse and it's inspiriational when we hear of anyone who has licked it. Now the two of you can make firm definite plans for the future. That said I'm glad you decided to continue building hot rods. Your clean build style is what it's all about from "back in the day" to today and on into the future. I'll be looking at what you accomplish with this new project as I've got a '32 5w that has been lanquishing in the back of the shop for too long. Maybe your build will be the "kick in the ass" I need to get moving on it. Frank
We're at five years clear and healthy. It is a life changing event - best wishes for the wife and you too. I followed the A build and I'll learn more on this one too. Welcome back.
I feel like I just time traveled. Man you really have the touch. I'll def. subscribe to this thread. Welcome back and Prayers for good health in the future.
Welcome back!!!! The HAMB missed you!!! Look forward to see some "new" progress and best wishes to your wife and family, as well!
Sure was fun to see Mr Thompson beating on the HURST's at the drags last summer. Photo courtesy of Ray Gordon............... Love and Lust!!! HURST RACING TIRES
love that car! glad to hear your wife is doing much better; cancer is evil. Wishing only the best to the both of you and this great ride.
Glad you're back and so glad to hear your wife is in remission. The coupe is looking awesome! Love all the changes you've made...and the new stance: KILLER!!!!!
You sure have your priorities in the right place! Your car looks great, but I can't wait to see it with fenders. The inspiration cars that you showed have always been a couple of my favorites.
1056 Olds? That's an old Olds. Glad to see you back and glad your wife's doing better. Thank you for your excellent pics of your excellent hot rod.
Welcome back. My mom is staying with me know and she is going thru stage 4 cancer. You take the good days and the bad days one at a time.
The coupe is spectacular, my daydream ride from my youth (a long time ago). Glad to hear your wife is doing well. May God bless both of you. We went through it with my wife last April and now I am having cancer surgery myself in June. Life can be a funny bitch sometimes but you gotta plug along and hope for the best, no matter what. I will follow the thread with great interest.
well as a newbie here, i think it's awesome to see the build. And welcome back!!!! Hope your wife is doing well!
Another welcome back Rolf. My wife has been battling breast cancer since '09, I guess from what your saying about the same time as yours, and yes it rearranges your priorities in one hell of a hurry. I'm very glad that she is doing well and is in remission we wish her only the best. I have moved not far from you and look forward to seeing your five window in person some day. Love your aesthetics and the style you induce in your cars. Reminds me of a friend of mine. Anyway welcome back and I'll be following your re-do with interest.
Was talking with a buddy about you the other day mate. Great news re your wife. And great to have you back on here. All the best Dale
Rolf, Glad to see you back. My wife and I are in the same boat as you and yours. She was diagnosed with breast cancer last November. She got through Chemo like the trooper that she is, and started Radiation this past Monday. The both of us can't wait to get through this and start the next chapter of our lives together. May God Bless you and your wife and give you many more years together.
So glad too hear your wife is doing better and very happy to have you back at the hot rods. I've really missed your inspiring threads.
glad to have you back! hope your wife is doing well!! seems we have all been affected by cancer in some way and it really sux.
Rolf, I am thrilled and relieved to hear your wife's doing better. The day I met you it struck me dumb that despite the obvious difficulty in your lives at the time, you'd spare an hour to share a beer with a virtual stranger and let him fall head over heels for your coupe. Ever since that day my mind has been HEAVILY influenced by not only your car but also your mindset, positive attitude and 'real car guy' philosophy. I'm excited to see this new project unfold! Again, I am very happy for your wife AND for you! Welcome back!
Glad to hear that your wife is doing well and you can get back to doing what you do... I never got to see your posts on the coupe first hand, but have referenced them several times over the last couple of years. It will be nice to keep up with what you are doing first hand this time. Any chance that dropped axle is the work of Adam Young up there in your neck of the woods?
Rolf its great to hear the Mrs is on the mend - family comes first. While its sad to see the old A go - one door closes another one opens. Grat lookin 5W - keep us in the loop on the changes !! Rat
