Absolutely Ted, by us showing up, it keeps the emphasis where it belongs, on the 50s and early 60s style. This is the one break I'm planning on during my bar prep time.

Lead East still is a great time for sure. I always look forward to Lead East, it's definitely a unique atmosphere. But the emphasis there is making money. I've accepted that and the hokey stuff that people do there, and that makes it easy to just relax and have a good time. But Gettysburg seems more in tune to the cars, Lead East is more about the party. They're both great shows

Looking forward to it! Any thoughts on adding a Pin-Up contest in the future?

Don't know how that would go over at this event. Could depend on "what" you're going to pin up

Thanks Bob for letting me kick off the Friday night Sock Hop by presenting my Rock & Roll Magic Show!

I'll be there for your kick-off party again on Thursday evening. Would be a good time to put up the Hamber banner. Maybe we can talk you into designating a corner of the pavilion for our group!

    Hi Jerry,
Glad we could work you in where you can lead in the friday nite entertainment. Anxious to see what you have planned. As a big finale why not try to pull a choppedc Merc or a roadster out of the hat instead of a rabbit. LOL
As for reserving a spot for our H.A.M.B.ers. We've all been to shows & seen one guy holding spaces for 4 - 5 of his friends who usually don't show up until noon so an "un-kool" idea that could cause some hard feelings which we don't want. Most of the people like to congregate out in the open under the tree's or their sun tent so I don't think you'd have a problem on finding enough room for everyone. My suggestion is get there about 30 min before the meal is served, hang the banner on the back wall & place some "H.A.M.B.members" placards on the table along with a jacket or two. It also wouldn't hurt to be in front of the "chow line" when they start serving. We're in the process now of tryin to put some numbers together so we know how many meals to plan for. If you can, do the same on your end & get back to me. Ok got to boogie. Cruze on

Thanks Jimbo. One can't deny that Lead East is a GREAT event with the only difference being, when you leave Lead "Scene" East, you'll have money in your pocket (if you stay for the Sunday Awards Program)

UP-DATE on Gettysburg Car show - Just received a rare & unusal entry for our Lead Scene East car show in Gettysburg. A beautiful 1967 Amphicar. Owner plans to "take it for a swim" in the Oaklside pond. A lot of interesting info can be found on this rare ride at www.amphicar.com or Goggle amphicar.
When Pre entry reg closed on th 15th we ended up with a total of 97 pre entrys (mostly rods & customs) so it's looking like it's going to be a great show. Hope to see you all there Video Bob

By now everyone is aware of the fact that Lead East is held on labor day weekend. It can't be denied that it is a Great Show but it falls short of what "Lead Scene East" offers. CASH AWARDS in ALL CLASSES including Top 10 & Top 20, $500 Best of Show, $250 for Super Club competition, $200 for Club Participation, two $100 drawings for Sponsor Appreciation (most receits collected), $50 per hr drawing for spectators on Fri & Sat afternoon. two Pre Paid Gas cards for Long Distance, 2 bands, 3 Cruises, Tour for the ladies plus 100's of valuable give aways. Best of all is our Motel rates starting at $65 & topping out at $119.00. When we put "Lead Scene East" together our intention was , instead of giving all the money to a "chosen few", we'd spread it around so some of the long over looked "lil guys" because they are & have always been the "Back Bone" of our hobby. If you'd like to enjoy a fun filled week end with out bankrupting your car show budget , Lead Scene East is the place to be on June 10th 11th & 12th. More info can be found on our web site at www.leadsceneeast.com Hope to see you all there. Video Bob

Good luck with your venture and ignore all the guys trying to put it down before you get started. I remember you from the Daytona Turkey run and many other shows and you were always in there pitching. The guys standing on the sidelines taking potshots mean nothing. You have to make mistakes to learn, and the only way to know what will work, and what will not, is to try.

Thanks for the kudo's Hot Rod. Been in this game longer than many have been on this planet so those "put downs" (which I'm unaware of) only makes me try harder to make our hobby more enjoyable AND affordable, espically during these hard times we're having. Cruise Safe & hope we see you in Gettysburg.

Have some great one on one interviews with Gene, Barris, Bailon & others including the "Original" Wolf Man. Leaving here for Pigeon Forge on Wed to cover the big Supernats show. Let me know what you need & I'll see if I can help you when I get back on Monday. Video Bob

Bob, I do believe we met a few years ago, 2002, when me in my 1947 Olds convertible and Hot Rod Liz in her T-Bucket blew thru town. We all went to lunch at a seafood snack shack right on the water in Virgina Beach. That was you and your lovely wife right?

Anyway, good luck with your event.

    Hi Denise,
Great hearing from you. Seen your ride in several mags since you finished it & it really looks good. I know it's too far for Liz to drive but sure would like to see you cruise into OUR event. Yep the show is legally our's & is registered with the state of Pa. Check out our web site at www.leadsceneeast.com Implimenting a lot of "old school" ideas that other promoters said wouldn't work like CASH awards in ALL classes. To date we have car's entered from approx 10 states (Mich included) Jeannine(my wife) said it would really make our day to see that olds cruise into our event, espically if you had a trunk load of those "choclate chip cookies" Did I miss something ??? GREAT hearing from you & hope we see you there

Ill be there, love the show, love taking the car for a nice 4 hour ride and definitely would of been disappointed if the show wasn't going on this year...

Cant beat it great time great cars, and yes leads east is bigger but its way too expensive and I think its quality of quantity. For the worlds fabulous 50s party lead east there more 60's 70;s cars, not even just ,muscle cars just knobby 4door pieces of shit than nice actual kustoms.but yes ill be there anyway haha, but more for the fun than the same 2000 cars in the same 2000 spots year after year

Sorry to say I won't be able to make it. I'm hosting my nephew's graduation party at my place on Saturday June 11th with 255 peeps on the guest list. Needless to say I've been quite busy getting ready for it and it will be like that till the 12th when I'm cleaning up. My cruzn season will start after that.:D

Good luck and perhaps next year.
Also, please tell your lovely wife I said hello.

WOW... Are you kiddin' me? GEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE where else are you gonna see so many different and NEAT Kustom Cars at one location. I have been going to this show since the second one, (in Abbotstown or Hanover, too long ago to remember), and they have all blown me away!! I guess I just like'm all, 50 Ford cpes, 49 Chev Fastbacks, 50 Mercs chopped or not, the Aztec, '54 Ford Black GlassTops, 60 Impala Converts, etc, etc. Ain't enough space here to list'em all. The only thing I'm sorry about is that I missed 2 or 3 times and didn't make it there! We will be there BOB, thanks for keeping it going!!!!!!!!!!!!
