Bass, those are great bikes. I'm currently building a 68 Bonneville custom and was trying to decide on a front end setup. What kind of forks are those on your bikes?

I'd call 'em choppers...but there as much bobbers as a few of the other bikes posted. So here is a bare metal shot of my Evo Sporty, and a couple of the Ironhead I just finished.

.................I spend two weeks sanding & painting my buddy's tank & fender with rattle cans. He puts it together and and we try to get a couple photos and the sun dies! There are better shots of the paint in the Friday Art Show, but here's the bike.......... He started with the traditional "basket case."

This is pretty embarassing to post after seeing all the 'real' bikes on this thread, but here's the XS650 that I'm building in my kitchen (I don't have a garage).
The outside shot is from Clark's (SoWhat) shop last weekend after he finish welded the frame. The 'motor' is a pile of parts we gathered for a corny mock-up. Everything on the bike gets changed out (front wheel, tires, etc) as it's put together for real, but it's the first progress pic I've posted with the frame changed from stock.
Oh- the redeeming factor of this bike is that I'm only about $200 into it total.

Shit. These other bikes make me want to delete the post I put up of mine! you. guys put it to shame. Talented bunch. I agree with another poster who said the best bikes are on the HAMB.

YOUR bike may have 200 bucks in it - but there's no way to measure it's infinite class. Helluva job!

  15. This from 15 years back or so, built on a budget, budget was about $50.00, or
    so it seemed.
Anyway, typical '70 with a bolt-on, runnin' batteryless, Honda SL front end
(1967), and TT pipes with baffles, punched through with a long bar, quieter
than no baffles, but only just :D .
Engine was a 740 kit, polished everything, ported, lightened, balanced and
    fast as hell.
The Honda front gave more travel, so was a little more comfy, as well as
    providing that ever-so-slightly better rake.
    It was free, too.

  16. Hatch, what are the details on the red framed one, second on the left. That one has alot of the styling characteristics that I want to put into a bike. You can PM me with the details if you'd rather, thanks.
