whats the best bottle jack?

    New to all this. I am looking for the shortest bottle jack I can find.
    Whats the best brand and the best place to shop?

    Oh the thread says "whats the best bottle jack", I'm sorry, I thought it said "what was the best bottle OF jack" :p.....carry on.
     
  3. the best one is the one that lifts your car doesnt fall over and holds up the car get a floor jack...but not one of the little ones with the 2 inch diameter head

    Thanks for the lead at Harbor Freight.
    A little too tall. Looking for about 6"-6 1/2".
    Doesn't need to be too many Tons.
    I plan one using when I am changing Oil.... all 4 wheels on the ground.

    Don't have it right in front of me, but I got a short one from an older Ford Ranger. Been a good roadside jack for me. Junkyards are loaded with all types of jacks.

    Nissan trucks had a nice short jack underhood. Mechanical, so no seepage. Easy to use.

  13. I don't know what the best one is, I do however know to stay away from autozone bottle jacks, they tend to leak / bleed down....

    check a farm supply store i use TSC I'm sure there is someting similar there.
     
  15. The shortest bottle jack will also have the least amount ram travel, and therefore the least amount of lift height. That said, try Zinko & oh yeah, get ready for sticker shock.
