I have a 1990 engine out of a fox mustang and was wondering what vbelt pulleys guys are running? I was told early mustang pulleys and alt bracket by a guy. Also I mocked my shoebox up with a 70's van 302, it has a shorter water pump BUT the coolant hose exit the p***enger side, and I also thought about using the pulleys but the crank is has a 3 bolt pully. Has anyone found any new info on off the shelf parts that will accommodate this application? The FOMO Sport is out of my price range.
    Thanks Dave

Check the online catalog for one of the chain auto parts stores and view the photos of the water pumps. Some small blocks came with the outlet on the other side.I think they changed around 1972,but I may be wrong...I was once back in the 90s.

I'm not clear about your question. I have an 88 5.0 HO. For the stock timing cover, to get the correct water pump with the right rotation, I had to use a 72 Econoline pump. This was also because I am using a 65 Mustang 289 radiator. I am only running a single v belt and just driving a generator. I purchased a Performance Products 3 bolt balancer because mine was bad but also because its a heck of a lot easier to find a single groove 3 bolt pulley. I don't know if anyone even makes a single groove 4 bolt pulley unless its something billet. Pulleys were some chrome ones I got at a local speed shop. I can't tell you what they were for, but they fit and they just happened to line up perfectly. I don't think I even had to shim them. Its been a while since I gathered this all up and it wasn't fun chasing it all down.

Are the Sunbeam Tiger pumps/pullys available? The Tiger ran a small block ford and had a short pump.

There was a booth at the last Turlock swap in Calif and there is a business called Galaxy. They cut down Ford water pumps.

Sunbeam Tiger water pumps are still available. But the pulleys came out of Fords industrial division. The Tiger crank pulley is shorter than a production unit. There are billet repo's out there but they're over $100 each. A good subs***ute for the water pump pulley would be to get one from a later 70's Fairmont 200 cu in six which has three grooves # EDE 8509 AA. It is also a smaller diameter and gives a 12% faster rotation to the fan. Check out pages 9 and 10 in my album.
