I love the part about it being a nostalgia car with no "modern" parts. Still for $5,500 it might be hiding a good start under all the ugly.

 

Dear god, what a pile of ****.

 

When I add up the usable parts I don't get near 5000. The shiny paint and the fact that it runs does not add a whole lot to the price FOR ME. Others may disagree.

i see r*t rods that are in worse shape and cost twice as much....How do they determine cost??? Can`t be labor, there is nothing there, yellow paint isnt that much.......

You know when I build a car I have a picture in my head of how it will look. This is proof that some don't have a picture in their head...At least that is what I am hoping here. I just can't imagine having that picture in my head. If I did EVER get that picture in my head I would go drink a bunch of booze to help me forget and make it go away.

Yeah, I agree with all as said previously.

I don't care to rag about others' projects. But it appears the asking price includes 'sentimental value' perhaps from the pleasure - and actual cost - of the build etc. In most cases that kind of value doesn't isn't considered by a potential buyer when considering a fair purchase price.

Rightfully so, unless done by a well-known builder. This one obviously doens't fit that category.

A couple rattle cans of primer and trade the rear tires and wheels for some skinny steelies, **** can the r. fenders and it's not bad. Priced any model A bodies lately? With an offer ya may get it cheaper.

 

Dude claims it's a race car, but I gotta wonder where or how they got that through tech.

I'd go $5500 if it included EVERYTHING in the listing.

 

At least its something to work with ...I know I could make something cool out of it after I tear the body off Z the rear ,Drop axle and maybe change the front crossmember ,Sell those junky wheels and throw a set of wires on it ,Pictures are sketchy though ,No interior shot and small pics.........

 

i see....ugly but something could be done with it. solid looking body. well worth the price. people are buying bodies like that in my area for 2500-4000. body only. so yea.... when your desperate your gonna pay i guess.

Since he is asking to trade for a bobcat, dozer or backhoe, he probably DID build it to look like a tractor....

I don't see what's there to mumble about so much.
It's quite easy to change the axles and wheels, swap a pair of not-hillarious headlights in there, and that's about it, rod like they should be.

 

What I think you are all missing is the other item in the ad.

I made the mistake of going to the suggested website to see the so called "race history". All I have to say is, "Don't do it!"
