Milan is 10 miles from Ypsi.

 

They weren't on the same weekend last year.
I sure hope they aren't next year as both events are so cool that they each deserve 100% participation from interested peeps.

 

Denise, we made sure the Reunion was the same date as last year so not to conflict with BP. And It will remain the same date for the future.

 

The first strip I ever went to. A guy down the street had a 63 Polara 426 Ramcharger SS/A. I always hung around when he worked on it and he always took me with him and his wife when he raced. I was 14 and I've been a racer/hot rodder ever since. Hope I can make it up there this year.

 

Last year BilletProof was the third Saturday in May, the 15th.
and the Reunion was the 4th Saturday in May, the 22nd.

This year BilletProof is still the same third Saturday in May, the 22nd.
Difference is there were 5 Saturdays in May last year. Obviously not this year.

Well hopefully I'll get to see you later on this summer?? Is another Reunion planned at Milan? What about HRR in Bowling Green in June?

 

Todd and I are going to the HRR, with the Hollish Bantam, and the P&H Willys. I am crewing for Peter Gallen's Poverty Striken AA/FC.

There is another nostalgia race at Milan the end of Sept.

Detroit Dragway's "heyday" was the period from 1962-72 when action there was the epi-center for the entire "bubble-top" to funny car evolution. As well, the entire musclecar phenomenon played itself out on the "Dix at Sibley" quarter-mile. DD was also birthplace of the cl***ic "two-voice" screamer (aka Sunday, SUNDAY, SUNDA-A-A-AY-Y!!) radio commericial.

Conrad Kalitta debuted his first "Bounty Hunter" there as a AA/GD in 1963.

Many stories from the era will be recalled by those who were there in "the day". Hope to see many HAMB'rs there. Be sure to stop by and say "hello"!

 

Tried to get a date from the drag way before we set the date for Billetproof MI... but I couldnt get anyone to tell me when it was going to be... so we just went with the same time it was last year 3rd Sat.

The ideal situation would be to do the show one day, the drag race the next. Make it a full weekend. Cross promote and share in the advertising costs.

It would be good for both events... have a Saturday night event so that its a full weekends worth of fun.

If I can get a hold of the person to chooses the date I'd love to work this out for 2012.

Like you and I had talked, that would be the ideal scenario. However, Milan is running their Sunday points race by that time in the season and there are no Sunday's available. So unless you were willing to move your show to a Sunday I don't know if the 2 shows in one weekend would work. You and Milan should just work to make sure they are not the same date for the coming years.

A lot can or may (maybe not) be said about this years date for the reunion. Right from the hit , I knew it was gonna be a problem.

Since we can't race at Billetproof. How bout combining the two and bring Billetproof to Milan. ...... You can have the whole spectator side.....

Putting the Falcon back together, will be running the automatic, just about gave up on the 4 speed. Looking forward to the event and some new additions to the Great Lakes G***ers.
