I have a idler arm repair kit for my 53,has anyone done one of these before,do I need to have any machining done for the bushings that came with kit? Thanks for any help
shouldn't i just dissasembled mine and reassembled, and it had little to no slow, car steered muuuuuch better.... good luck....
I rebuilt mine last summer. Turned out the old bushings were fine, had to replace the pin and the spacers and everything worked out great. The most you might have to do is have the bushings reamed to size, but I don't think you need to worry about it much. Just make sure you get the shims right. You want a little space, but not too much. I can't remember what the spec. is off the top of my head, but if you need it I can get it for you tonight. Good luck, Jay
