    Chevy TH350 trans is acting weird, it pulls strong in Drive, pulls with same strength in Neutral, feels like neutral when put to R. And when switched to Park it kind of reminds like having Park and Reverse together (feels like when you put Park on slowly moving car, makes a clunk like it would go in reverse but then the park catches it).

    I have checked the oil level with running engine, topped it to full mark. Also checked the linkage, all fine. When I move the trans lever by hand with no linkage engaged, it acts the same.

    What might be the case?<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

  2. might have a wallowed out manual shaft detent lever.

    Check the filter and hope for the best.
    If it has been running long this way a rebuild may be in your future.
    Reverse is usually the first gear to go out in a TH trans.

    Dropped the pan, everything looks ok. So I believe it is more internal problem.
    Might be the forward cluches burned together, then it would have a drive in any gear, but in reverse it would be the forward and reverse in on the same time, meaning the car is not moving.

    Can I test it some way, to make sure weather the cluch is stuck or not? When I take the trans off from car, then I could rotate the input shaft and see if the output shaft turns (in normal transmission, without oil pressure it shouldn't turn, but when cluches are stuck then they will be turning, is that correct?)?

    What you are describing is most likley a manual valve alignment problem in the valve body. If the outside linkage nut is tightened up without holding the lever, you bottom out the internal linkage to the inside of the case and bend the linkage. Some call it a rooster cone. There is an S link from the internal linkage to the manual valve. With the pan off shift the linkage to the drive position and observe the manual valve protruding from the rear of the valve body. It should be flush or just a small amount sticking out the back of the valve body. If it is not, bend the portion of the internal linkage where the S link is hooked to.

    If the forward clutch pack was fried and the clutches welded together it would try to pull forward in neutral and park and lock up in reverse. He said that reverse feels like neutral.
