on top of the shorter wheelbase it was said the crashes became more severe when people experimented with swing axles.

a good ****ogy to RMR cl***es is they are just fat lakesters, speeds will only get higher. the 140" minimum wheelbase is funky aesthetically but i bet on the dirt its a better ride.

side note.... #544 roadster had a best of 139 mph and some change on 20% :D

The photo sequence of the black roadster spinning is Jimmy Shine driving the Goldstrom/Jesel street roadster. I'd like to forward these to Wayne Jesel if you don't mind. Great shots as always.

My son managed to gain entry into the "Dirty 2" club this weekend driving our Modified Roadster @ 213.6 MPH

True, they were banned after '59 when the Summers bros roadster spun and flipped...I understand that the late Ron Benham was the guy who worked to get them back...another Blair's alumnus .

    THANKS FOR THE PICTURES!!!!!

True. Ron worked long and hard to get them back. Ron was one of those rare visionaries that knew what he was talking about.

Dynoroom. Congrats to you and your son for getting into the dirty two club!!! Well done!

Great pictures, you have a hell of a lot better camera than I do! I hope you don't think I'm trying to highjack the thread, but I took a few pic's too. It was super racing, a guy told me 11 of the first 15 down the track set new records on Saturday AM.

My wife gave me a hard time when I turned the truck around to take this pic. Glad I did.

Wonderful coverage of this event, really takes me to the lake bed, I could taste the dust. Thank god Jimmy Shine kept that roadster upright and is ok, I really admire these brave folks piloting these missles, close spaces don't work well for me. Love all the cruzin rides and the hell raising pirate ships. M.1, you rule. ~sololobo~

The green lakester (belly tank) with the injected Ardun belongs to the Bean Bandits. This was the car's first time out with this engine and afew other changes, so we're still in shake down mode. The car felt good, drove straight and the engine was still pulling hard when it went through the lights at 108 mph. I reckon we're on the right track.

Awesome!! Any more pics of that thing?? I sort of hate to admit it, but I sort of have a soft spot for those little cars. I owned one for a brief moment and had to get rid of it before I got it back on the road. Always felt like I had unfinished business with them...
