wiring 1950 chevy deluxe

Im rewiring my 1950 chevy deluxe and was hoping for a little help. Whats the best way to get behind and under the dash. I cant seem to find a way to get to the ignition and gauges. Also any other tips would be huge thanks

 

Take them out while you're doing the wiring.

 

are you kidding? there is a giant cover on the firewall that gives access to behind the dash from the engine compartment. I'd remove that and go in that way.

 

Seriously how could i miss that. Thanks ill check the engine compartment

 

I take the front seat out everytime. Makes a world of difference. Working through the firewall is a pain...

 

The front seat is out but i still cant get under to get a good look at the wiring tucked in the dash. Also saw no way of getting the gauges off of the dash

 

also the whole center chrome speaker cover will unscrew from behind to open up access under dash....think the nuts are 3/8"
