Swap meet & drag racing May 22 Mt.Vernon,OH

From the Columbus area, on the north east side off the outerbelt I-270, go north on Ohio Route # 3, thru Westerville out into the farm country... Thru Sunbury, Centerburg, Mt. Liberty & Bangs... (Most all are very small towns, both city limit signs hang on the same pole ) into Mt. Vernon. (Maybe 30 to 40 miles I guess...) As you near the outskirts of Mt. Vernon start watching the right side of the roadway... A nice big "Pacemaker" sign points the way.

Keep your windows down and listen for the sound of DRAG RACING!!!

Like Bill said, about 30 miles northeast of Columbus on 3/36. The schedule says " Super Street" racing for Saturday night. Mostly 60's -70's era muscle cars run there,most of which are dedicated drag cars.Not uncommon to see a 4 second p***.

 

Jon,that's a great idea.I don't know why I didn't think of it last year. Consider it done.

Not too sure about that one.Our event Sunday is anything goes.

 

How many vendors do ya expect for the swap meet?

 

Hard to say.We've been trying to promote it to swap vendors in the area,but it sometimes takes a while for these things to start growing.

I'll be out tomorrow morning. Have to leave around noon to take our new dog to puppy school tomorrow afternoon. If I can get enough time to load some stuff up to vend, I will. Man, these summers get busier and busier every year.....

Heading out the door in a few minutes. Not going to have the time to vend, but I'm glad I'll be able to pay more attention to the track. As long as the weather holds out, it's gonna be great!

 

I got out there early and it was kicking off well. Several cars down the track already (including two g***er style '33 willys) and there were still several cars rolling in. Weather is perfect!!!! Get out there and support this show. It's well worth it.

To all of you who didn't attend this event........Make sure you go next year!
Had a real good time saw plenty of heads up drag racing, and met some great people! The Buckeye Rod Builders worked hard to put on a really nice event, a BIG THANK-YOU from all of us!
