Pic. Request: 60-66 Chevy Pickups

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Tony Bones, Apr 15, 2005.

  1. The grille pieces look like chrome bullets to me [the kind you can get from Moon]. My buddy is going to use those on the grille in his '62 [the one I had far too briefly].

    Just chrome bullets.

  3. Hmmm...me thinks floating chrome door knobs may be the hot ticket :)

I dig the trim on this one. Anyone know if this was an optional thing?

That trim was an option, you could order that truck was almost zero chrome on it, thinking just the door handles would be chrome and everything else painted or deleted.

That trim is factory. If you look up a few posts to the 1960 sitting in front of American Honda HQ in 1960 it's got that trim on it and th optional white wall tires.

  9. You *******s! I knew I shouldn't have looked at this thread when I read the ***le... Now my C-10 Sickness can't be helped. :(

My dad had a '63 SWB when I was a sparkle in his eye until I was about 13. He also had a '59 Apache LWB 4x4 hunting truck. I still remember taking the 2 hour drive to the ranch when I was a kid and watching the road go by through the hole in the floorboard. He sold thoselong ago , and about 4 yrs ago he picked up a '64 LWB C-10, 350/3spd, Red/White. My younger brother's 1st truck was a '66 C-10 LWB. He's still got it. It runs a 455 Olds motor and it's dropped.

    God damnit...now I'm searching egay for a 60-66 C-10.

    I

    MUST

    OWN

    ONE.

I didn't realize there were so many people that like these trucks on here. I have several of these trucks. One of which is a long bed that I have been trying to think of ways to put it together. Here is a couple of pics of one of my old trucks. It had a 292 six with a manual 4speed out of a vega station wagon.

I think that's the "Apache" style trim- ie full dresser truck. fairly rare, and i think it's limited to the snorkle hood trucks 60/61 (?).

  24. Lotta nice trucks! I'm puttin' one '65 together with El Camino front and rear frame sections - (no it wasn't easy) but it's low and I had it and didn't have to buy stuff! Mostly I'd like to do something to the front of the truck, but dont know what. Most all I've seen have the stock grills in 'em yet. Only one in this post has a 'custom' grill. Anyone seen any "cool" fronts????? Just wonderin'

My first pickup was a '66 long box, 283, 3spd. I haven't been without a pickup since. These pictures sure make me want one again. I'd have to pedal my '90 SS454 (dog) but it would be worth it.

Here's a pic of my good-old mobile storage shed. My daily driver all last year. Chicks seem to think it's either a he**** or an ambulance. I think it's the best $150 I've ever spent. It's also BY FAR the most reliable old car I've ever had.

I know that there is a pic posted by Rocky - observations of Kruizin the heartland. It is a very well done truck.
