1930 Ford business Coupe. I just brought her home Sunday, May 15th. Found it in central Michigan. I dicsoverd it about a year ago via a friend and it was only 10 minutes from my home. It took this long to get it from I believe the second owner. Dave has owned the car since 1969. It sat in building behind the guys store, on a main drag or road (in my town, Waterford) for a bunch of years. I can't believe that I have p***ed by it probably a million times and did not even know that it was there. Anyway, it mine now, mine, mine, mine.
Going to build a traditional car with it. My buddy Jeff has a 29 Coupe that is a traditional build and one bad *** car.
Condition, Body panels emaculent, Floor needs some work (thanks to a ****), hood pretty good, fenders need alot of work. This is a complete car, even has snow chains, vacuum fan, second engine and wheels. The motor turns free.
I have always admired the traditional cars and never though that I would have one. Then I met Jeff and discovered that my car sickness was not done evolving. Can't wait to drive.

Wow, fantastic find. And it didn't cost you a fortune in gas to get it home either! Can't wait to see what you do to it.

Wow, looks just like mine when I got it!

BTW, if the guy owned it from 1969...how can you be the second owner?

  17. Awesome score - keep us posted on the build.

I used to live in Waterford - what store was it behind?

  18. Good score! Yes;they are still out there. There's a (what looks like-don't bust my balls) fairly solid-looking '32 Vicky sitting outside a little north of me. I'm sure some of you MI guys are aware of the car and have probably tried to purchase it. Sadly;it's probably another "I'll get around to it someday..." thing.

Always nice to start with a good solid car. Looks like you will keep some restorers happy selling the unwanted parts.

Theres a model a coupe sitting outside of a guys shop on us223 just west of Adrian Mi. Its been there maybe 2 years and he is letting it go to hell. He collects all kinds of old vehicles and never does anything with them. I don't need it but would like to see it go to a good home.

    this one?

some places are thin others ate thru..but still buildable for rod material.
the problem is its 15 to 20 feet off a main road that gets salted every winter, right in front of a building that im sure it could be in and protected from the weather

I could never find anyone to talk to, i've known of this coupe for at least a year or more

someone needs to save it. I cant now , one at a time. its a 30-31

Nice score Moody! the best part is that is all there, makes the project that much easier to complete. Keep us posted out here in "Waterford California" on the progress.

I am in Michigan too. I had been watching for a '48/'49 Cadillac coupe/fastback for a longtime, and spent about two years looking seriously. I made a number of long trips to check out cars. Like you, I ended up finding the car I wanted only 10 or 15 minutes from home.

He got it from Dave, owner of Coaches corner on Dixie Hwy, right next to the Eastern Pearl restaurant. I tried buying it but I do not need 4 cars right now and was happy that Gene got it. I think my coupe had a little to do with this purchase as Gene mentioned.
