I picked up this 50 Ford F-1 this weekend. I knew the bed and fenders were not stock. It looks okay for now, but I eventually plan on going back to stock.

Anyway, can anyone tell me what they are off of? My main reason to know is to get rid of that awful trailer light "rolled pan", and put in an actual pan if one is available to the unknown model, or a bumper.

    Thanks.

The Bed is '55 Up to Early '80s..ish Chevy.

From the Odd angle of the pic I can't tell about the Fenders, Could be stock F-1 but International Pick Ups in the Late '60's~Early '70's had a Fender with the same body line as the Early Ford but were more boxy.

Post a pic of them straight from the side so we can see the Fenders shape.

  5. Fenders look to be from an F-2 3/4 ton. They have the same shape as F-1, but a bigger wheel opening and a thinner profile.

here's another photo i have, i can take a more straight on tonight. (the wood running boards are gonna be gone soon too.)

@de soto, you're description of the fenders is how they are, too boxy for an F-1, but has the line.

I have to agree, outside of the tail light treatment the truck looks great.
The tail lights are great for being seen but not great in a traditional vehicle manner.

Than I have to ask, what wood running boards? as I don't see wood running boards on the truck.

Right now I would just drive the hell out of it an not change a thing until I figured out what I wanted for tail lights. If it isn't broke why start fixing it?

looks like a 2x12 made into the running boards...probably because they couldnt find a good fit up to the rear fenders, the original ones would have needed to be reworked to fit up to the non original rear fenders..if you look close you will see its just black painted wood

I plan on driving the hell out of it as is. I am getting rid of the trailer lights asap. i'm fine with the bed and fenders, just wondered what they were from. I'm thinking of going with '50 pontiac lights for the rear.

It's a frankenstein truck. 50 ford cab and frame, international fenders, and chevy bed and power. It's going to piss everyone off.

OK, I'm headed down to see about an eye exam and new glasses. Or get a 24 inch monitor to hook to the laptop.

I like your idea on the tail lights Delray54. I'd bet that if you never say anything about the bed and fenders 3/4 of the people will never notice.
