I'm sure this has been covered 1000 times so sorry if this has been beaten to death....I have a 1952 Chevy truck and I am debating on whether to keep the original frame and bag the truck on that or put the body on a Chevy Colorado ch***is or S-10. Does anybody have any thoughts about what would work best or be the easiest? I plan on driving the hell out of the truck. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
Another vote for keeping the stock frame. If you don't have a frame or the frame is rusted, damaged or butchered beyond reasonable repair then swap frames. Unless you have patience beyond and above the norm and some excellent fabrication skills along with being a good problem solver swapping frames often ends up being a real challenge. The main thing is getting the cab, nose an bed lined up right. A lot of the frame swap trucks tend to look a bit bent in the middle if you look at them straight on from the side. It can be done but takes a lot of extra work to get right.
Stock frame!! I was amazed how great my truck drove, handled and stopped with stock set up in it(54 front drums)...its going to be my daily so I just freshened it all up.
