Trying to find Chrome moly tube in utah.

I tried Wasatch steel with no luck. I can find it online but shipping is a killer.

 

What do you need and what length.

Aircraft Spruce has good prices and will sell short pieces without a cut charge

I have tried most of those places with no luck. They do stock steel pipe though.

 

Shipping shouldn't be too bad for a 2' package that light. Airparts in Kansas City or chassis shop in Michigan, online metals.com, speedymetals.com all do short pieces and are affordable with ups.

What are you using the Chrome Moly for? In my experience, unless a class rule calls for it, it is overkill in most automotive applications.

So you have $20 in tubing and what? $14 in shipping. Most metal yards around here wont cut a full length and if they do they hit you with a cut charge that would be more than shipping. I would understand if you needed full or half lengths as FREIGHT is pricey.

 

The utah salt flats racers are building a new bonneville car ...check out their web site and contact those guys. . the BMC fab-metal shop next to I 15 in spanish fork has special ordered DOM for me a lot cheaper than some online suppliers metal mart in lehi has said they could order anything I needed but I am not ready to start the next chassis build.
