I think i have found my next car a 1954 buick special 4 door all original body great nailhead cranks it is a auto,Will need floor pans.Is there something rare or difficult to repair(like only one year model stuff) I should be aware of?And does anyone have any cool pics of some to convince my wife this is our next build!
honestly - if it requires work - I'd hold out for a 2 door 54-56 the 4 door sedans are not very appealling to MY eyes (the rivi hardtop 4 doors are another story though) some stuff will work from 54-56 -
I too would hold out for a 2dr unless its a 4dr hardtop that requires no to little work and is very inexpensive like under $2k.
post a pic of what you are looking at-nothing wrong with a 4 door if done right-a lot depends on your skills as a fabricator when it comes to floors, etc-since floors are bad there may be hidden rust elsewere-got a magnet? search Car For Sale Section here-'54's listed
Well, if it is a series 40, Special, it has a small v8, 264 cid. Used them in '54 and '55. I wouldnt mess with the 264 when the 322 cid nailheads are avaliable.
Cost with delivery 1000.00 and with a wife and 2 kids four doors doesn't sound bad.The motor looks looks like it will run it turns over!!so i may just try to get it running he has a larger nail i can purchase and build. What would it cost to get the dynaflow rebuilt?
I have been offered a 51 chevy 4 door deluxe,It to is all original and is suppose to run,He clams it is missing a battery and maybe a hubcap!I think iam leaning towards the chevy...
IMO, 4 door and 2 door c-dan 54 Buicks, both small and large body, look awesome when lowered and shaved. So which did you end up with the Buick or the Chevy.
Do you still have the 54 buick? I have a 54 and a 55 2dr ht. The 55 is a power window car and power steering. I am about to cut the body up. Good floors. Good front clip. Good alot of places except lower rears. I have a ton of parts i wont need too. Power brake unit and rebuilt brake master. New horns. Extra split bench from 56 olds.
