Tri five wipers

    A friend of mine just bought a 57 chevy and found the wipers disconnected after hooking the wiper`s back up they park in the vertical position????The wipers are a vacuum set up.Any suggestions.........

    Pull the motor & park the blades ... then re-install the motor.

    Switch over to electric wipers. Vacuum wipers are the pits.

    what you do is push each wiper down----on the base of arm----it has a clutch mechanism--and you can reset each on individually

    and yes---def switch to electric
     
  7. If they are swiping the gl*** in the right place, then there is a problem with the motor. Vacuum wiper motors are simple and usually only need some heavy grease in them to help them out. Electric is the way to go, but then most guys leave their baby home in the garage when it's raining, so why spend the money?

    I'd take both blades and arms off then run the wipers. When they parked I'd set the arms back on in the park position. may have just been installed incorrect. jus sayn

    If you decide to switch to electric...check RAINGEAR. nice unit from Port Townsend, Washington. Google it.

    Problem solved the cables were installed backwards.the figure 8 was on the right side and oval on the left i r/r the cables and reinstalled them with the figure 8 on the left and oval on the right perfect(also added an electric motor) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif
