Kev, your like the coolest guy on here!

  3. Chris....Pretty sure Royalshifter is cooler than me.

BBYMR....These brackets were made that attach to the bottom edge of the hood. They touch the firewall. If you notice there are 1/8" holes in them. That is because everything is built with clecos first. The hole that goes through the firewall is drilled out to 5/16" and a 5/16" bolt is cut down and the end tapered. This bolt is welded into the bracket and the other 2 holes are drilled out to 3/16". The bracket is bolted to the hood lip. Now the hood can be lowered into place and the 2 tapered bolts line up with the holes in the firewall and slide in as the hood is positioned. That takes care of the rear.

Once the rear is done a couple of tabs were made that come straight back from the grill shell and contact the bottom of the hood lip at the front. The tabs are welded to the grill shell and a hole is drilled through the tab and lip so the front can be bolted down. The hood comes down and sits on these tabs. Sorry I don't have more pictures.

I knew I saved those parking signs from the store for a reason, and hoods was it. Your very clear and easy directions are appreciated. Thanks.

That is a nice looking hood.... I like the rack showing all of the LARGE C-clamps..... and to think that I thought that I had a few...

  8. You can't have too many C clamps! Most of those have been bought for one or two dollars each at yard sales and swap meets over the years. I still buy them when I see good ones cheap.

Yeah, yeah.......you can do that **** in your sleep!! Lets talk about what everybody really want to know. I see you're going with a full beard. Maybe by Christmas you can make a few extra bucks playing Santy Clause!:D

  11. I'm just not much of a metro-***ual and I get lazy and scruffy. I'm more into driving hot rods than sleds so that's a negative on the Santy Clause.

Kevin is the man! You couldnt ask for a nicer guy. Spent the whole day answering my dumb questions and showing me what to do next. I love the hood it completes the truck. Stay tuned our next project is "how to get more than a inch of travel out of your buggy spring".
