Well # 9 is in the muddy bucket.I want to thank everyone for hanging in with us in dealing with the horribly wet infield. I stomped all over that place Friday trying to figure out where everyone was going to fit knowing that we lost about 1/3 of the infield AND around the outside of the track to standing water. As always you guys make it easy for me. NOBODY spent any time bitching to us about the conditions.I think by now you guys know what to expect at Latimore. We'll always have to deal with SOMETHING together. Who knows, these may be some of your best hot rod stories one day.We parked a few show cars on the farm field next to us...nowhere near the "show" field & NOBODY bitched as I explained & apologized for the parking situation. Some of the vendors also put up with swampy conditions but looked like they sold a ton of stuff. The new BBQ vendor seemed to be a giant hit and will be back. Thanks to the very well behaved campers all weekend & not leaving us a mess. Thanks for not trashing the new restroom. Thanks for buying show shirts & poster. Thank Mr. Norwell for the art. Thanks for the world not ending on the day of my show...what a shitty rap to be left with. Thanks to Pat & Kim for deciding to have their WEDDING at our car show. It was not conventional but they also didn't piss away 20 grand doing it and were still surrounded by friends & family...congrats! And as always thanks to out little crew of regular helpers. They stick in every year and as I told them this weekend, the day ONE of them decides they are finished with the show, the show is finished because I truly could not do it without them. KIm & I thank everyone for supporting the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing.
Jalopy Showdown Drags, Beaver Springs Dragway Oct.1........Let's race!

    Larry,
THANK YOU, Kim and all involved in making the show happen!!!!
Including that asshole Johnnylonghair and even JT who kept trying to get me to pay 10 bux to come or go! :) :)

It's still, and always will be the best show.
I've said it before, and think it's safe to say that all our group would show up even if there were NO cars.
Just hangin out with everyone and having a good time with friends (and fellow DB's) is worth the ride, rain and mud!! Getting together with you guy's is always a great time!

    Thanks to all.

    Tony

Thanks for a great time to you and all of your staff. The sun god shown down on the Jalopy once again on Sat., you must be doing something right, like we all don't know that.

    See you next year.

  20. Well thanks larry and kim and the crew again this year what a blast. Speaking of a blast it only took me three years to be the winner of the 20 dollar trophy that JR gives for the first person to get him MUDDY and I don't mean speckle him with a bird dropping size piece of mud.
The weather awesome thanks again see you at the jalopydrags with rubberbands hahaha

This is where it all started nine years ago. This is just about all the participants the first year. Always a neat show and good people that come and of course those that help put it on. It's come a long way. I'm glad that I was there for the ride. Thanks to everyone involved.

  30. Thanks Larry for another great show.

Tommy, I was there that first year too- pushing my son around in his stroller in the rain. We had a great time that year too! :)
