    Hi!

I installed brake cylinder and booster on "Dagels like" X-crossmember. I can't find anywhere photo which could help me with brake pedal installation. Can anybody help ? Maybe photo ? The car is Ford 1930 Coupe.

OK, here is few project photos. The booster is near its final position but I don't where is brake pedal correct location and how it should be clamp. If brake pedal is bolted to booster with its original adapter it is not in correct place.

Looks to me as the crossmember is in backward.....do you have the body yet?

Yes, I have body. The crossmember is exactly where it should be. I think there must be some extension rod between pedal and booster. But haven't found any photo about that. Maybe somebody can post...

  6. i need a photo also ...but i think we need to order an extension rod and clevis kit from summit and mount the pedal bracket where we need it.

I am going to have to agree with broken spoke, the front of the crossmember has closer to a 25 degree angle while the back has closer to a 20 degree angle, it looks like you have it in backwards. Dont know if you meant to do that or not but it would have some effects on the placement of the brake pedal.

Here is a pic of some 39 pedals I adapted for a Model A frame I built several yrs ago.

An Idea you could pull from it is to get the pivot point mounted off the frame. Then you could use an "extender" rod to get back to the booster.

Make sure you triangulate any mounting you do from the "pivot" shaft:eek:.

One more thought: I'm not so sure you need power brakes on an "A". You could use one from a late '60's Ford Mustang. It has dual reservoir.

Good looking, well thought out work so far. Hope I helped.

  10. You're doing a great job but a full "Body on" mock up with the steering column mounted will give you a better idea on the exact placement as well as other considerations such as pedal placement and master cylinder.

Nothing bolts right in and sometimes it helps having another 100,000 pair of eyes to find a simpler more effective way to do things!
