Hopefully someone here can help me. I removed the top peice of stainless trim that goes across the top of the rear window gl*** on my '52 Olds 88. I just worked it out of there with the clips staying in the stainless. I am preparing to paint the top and needed to clean and sand along the stainless.......Sooooooo when the top is all painted I have no clue how to reinstall the trim. It doesn't look like you can snap it over the clips, the clips slide in the end of the trim and then go down perpindicular to the trim with two little L shaped peices ging to the rear of the car. HELP,,,,,,,any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, TomCat 1

If your Olds is like my 51 Buick, I think the gl*** and gasket needs to be removed. The clips and SS trim are supposed to come out with the gl***. The "L" shaped clips hook around the gl*** through the gasket. I'm faced with the same issue. Gasket is $279. Ouch

My 54 Lincoln Capri is like that. The top trim fits into the gasket. So you will probably have to remove the gl*** to get the stainless back in. Gaskets can be expensive. I had to have mine made by a rubber shop back in 1993.
