Hello, Does anyone have anything at all on how to install an early Olds into a 1941 Ford pickup? The Olds motor came with Ford motor mounts but the oil pan is hitting the front crossmember and the motor is back as far as it will go(the firewall has already been recessed.) So, I'm not sure if the motor mounts are for a different year frame or the front crossmember needs something done to it. Any help would be appreciated.

What kind of ****** are you going to use ?
You can put a bisket under the Ford Rubber pad and rise the engine a bit.

  4. '41 was the first year that Ford offered a 6 cylinder option. (They also offered a 4 banger option with 9N tractor engines, those are not nearly as rare as they should be.) Most were V8's of course, same as '40. However, the 6 cylinder pickups used a deeper front crossmember. I'm betting that yours was originally a V8 truck, because I don't think you'd be having the clearance problem at the front of the oil pan if you had a 6 cylinder front crossmember. They are not the easiest things to find, but if you could get a 6 cylinder front crossmember, it would most likely solve your problem.

Hey thanks alot, after you said that I immediately went to Ebay and as soon as it popped up I remembered. I had a 1940ish front crossmember in the garage and damned if it wasn't the one you suggested trying to find. A friend gave it to me awhile ago to cut up for another project for motor mounts and I didn't use that one. The hot rod gods were smiling down on me and I was so happy. Thanks so much!!!
