  2. All us in So-Cal need to support this show. It is getting bigger every year and this sis a perfect venue for it (except it will be africa hot in June). large parking lot, food stands, band area, no body will get turned away that belongs there. This is a big step for Moldy and I for one am doing eveything to help him make this happen and come back again next year (I am a little selfish considering this is 3 miles from my house).

Make flyers and p*** them out at cruises and shows. get the word out. Last years show had 250 cars "legally in the show" and another 50 or 60 cars parked on the side street. this show could easily hold 400 cars and still have room for everyone.

BTW, not only is this thing getting bigger every year but it's getting FURTHER AWAY TOO!! lmao, it started in the the Valley...what the heck happened?!? :D

  5. that little VFW place couldn't hold the venders now ( I know that place real well since it was right around the corner from my house). this place will be great and there are a bunch of us that are pitching in to help out. the biggest problem I see is the heat (it will be africa hot for sure) and filling the joint up cause it is so big. Saugus is 12 ACRES!!!!!

By the way they are going to start racing at Saugus again....roundy-round only but it is a start.

Hatchet let me know if I can help out with any logistics. My pad is real close. If ya need a place to crash my wife is used to my greasy little friends staying the night....:D seiously if you need a meeting spot I'm a phone call away.

    WOW!

Thanx big time I really appreciate the support.
I really got my **** on the line this year.

hey.... I wonder how long this thread will go before someone blasts the event. L.O.L...

Anyway if'in any of you folks want to drop by next Saturday the 30th, I'm puttin' on a Production meeting / BBQ
for the street team, volunteers, vendors etc. so's we can start organizing the show crew.

I'm a gonna need a lot of bodies this year. Need.... Gate Keepers, Parking Attendants both in the public park and
the Show Grounds, Also need folks to help with Registration, Security etc. Then the big Kleen up crew.

I figure if'in I can get a minimum of approx. 50 bodies that way they can all take short shifts and all get a chance to
kick back and enjoy the show.

There will be some perks for the folks that help out too.

Anyway gettin' back to the BBQ if anyone's interested e mail me at
mailto:moldy@ratfink.org for directions and the scoop.

Thanx again for the support it's really nice for ya all to endorse this deal. In fact the way I look at it. This ain't my
show, I'm just the schlep that puts the thing on.

There is no way in hell I could ever do this stuff without folks like you, the vendors, the bands and the folks that
show in their vehicles, it's your show make of it what you can.

    Holy ****!
A real car show in our town. What are these muscle car freaks going to do. You have to make sure you have a year limit or these dudes will run all over the show.

    Shifty,
Since it is so close, I'm in for helping out also. I can get there early. Shifty we could hit the Auto Spa May 7th to spread the word. Also Route 66 starts of May 15th.

    Moldy,
I met you at the Wheeltramps cruise in. White 59 ford with blue scallops. I've been to all these. My car was in the last 2. What time and where is the pre meeting on the 30th. I would love to try and make it. My kid has his B-day on the 30th, is the only problem. If I can make it to the meeting or if conflicts with my party, I would still like to be a volenteer for the show.
I will shoot you and Shifty a PM this weekend.

This would be sweet if this can be an annual thing here. We just can't let it get ruined like VLV almost did.

    Hey folks it's me again,

Here's a short run down about the show.

Most of the shows that Ed was invited to at the time were either Kustom or pre 62 shows and Ed wanted to broaden the scope of things. If you look at his art work Ed appealed to just about everyone's likes.

The cut off date is 1972. The Extravaganza part of the ***le of this show came from Ed when we first came up with the Idea. In fact for the special interest cl*** there is no year limit as long as the car or the vehicle is Kustom. Heck Ed even put together a VW Cl*** because he was a freak for rear engine machines.

Muscle Cars have always been one of our larger cl***es through the years. Saugus has enough room for over 400 vehicles so I wouldn't let it worry ya none. If the show grows larger in the future there is another property on the
other side of the track that could be used.

The Rat Fink.Party and Kustom Kulture Extravaganza is most likely the most diversified event that I have ever been to. It's amazing to see what comes out each year. We don't segregate the cl***es like a lot of other shows,
instead we use colored window cl***ification sheets for the voting. That way if a club wants to park together they can.

Most people don't even care if they even get an award their, there for fun.
Every once an awhile we get a trophy ***** that will complain and usually they don't come back and if'in they don't who cares that is not what the show is about.Heck it's suposed to be a Party.

Everyone at this event seems to get along just fine because we all have something in common.

Ya see the most important thing to remember is that we all Love Ed "Big Daddy" Roth and what he stood for.

It's the smell of Gas and Oil, the love of Art and Music and most of all the gathering of People who decided to step out of the box and hang out together for just one day to celebrate Ed's achievements.

Like I said before this is not my show, This event is put on by all of the folks that participate and if it wasn't for that it would never happen.

God Bless Ed "Big Daddy" Roth

  16. Looks like this thing is gettin rolling jus nice...

have a frickin great weekend all...

    Go steady....

Let try and hook up either at the show or at one of the car nights in town. I have a bunch a flyers printed up and will be p***ing them out.

    Moldy-
on the heels of VLV you need to make sure that the crowd is kept in place. Santa Clarita is a pretty conservative place and they will shut it down fast if the idiots that f'd up vegas decide to show.

the cops in SCV are no joke and since there isn't a lot to do they will swarm the show at the first sign of trouble.

You have a point, the Folks at Saugus and Santa Clarita are pretty darned conservative and to tell you the truth I got my **** on the line here with the high deposits and junk like that. I'm nervous as hell.

Anyway that is beside the point. The folks that go to Viva are all really great
people! And the Shifters do a fantastic job.

We get pretty much the same gang at this event and more with the diversity of vehicle entries. But ya gotta figure that Viva is like 3 or 4 days of heavy partying and folks are bound to get a little out of control. No sleep lots of
drinkin' and just the excitment of being in Vegas can bring out all kinds of demon's.

In 2004, I even got stupid and belligerent at Viva. And to tell you the truth I'm still paying for it.(Long Story) Hey we are all only human.

Ya just have to get the folks to understand that events like these are special and if you abuse your freedom then it can spoil it for everyone. I guess next year at Viva (2k6) there is a rumor that they are talking about closing down
the parking lot after 5:00pm both on Friday and Saturday and if you need to get to your car you will have to be ******ed by a security guard?

Saugus is big and it's gonna take a pretty good sized crew this year.

I'm pretty sure I can get the crowed to help, they have always done a pretty good job of cleanin' up after each other. In the past I've asked that everyone try and take care of each other and pick up the garbage and stuff and put it next to the nearest trash receptacle to help the crew out.

I've only had a couple of drunks and only had one guy burn out in the show area in the past 5 years and he apologized.

As far as the cops go. Cops are people too. Some of them can be a-holes and some can be cool. Hopefully if there is any police presents they will be the cool ones.

Anyway ya gotta figure that this show is only for the day and most folks pretty much stay in check and respect each other.

I just pray they can keep it together this year.

Thanx for handin' out the flyers. And don't forget if'in ya want to stop by next Saturday the 30th I'm havin' that BBQ to ***ign Volunteer duties etc. I'm gonna need some head honchos.

    Thanx again.. tha Moldy one

My goal was to have it running for this Ratfink show. Stupid job always gets in the way of the fun stuff!

    ever.

Here is the direct link to the pdf files. the file name pretty much describes wot you'll get.

59ford & Shiftymutt, got details on the auto spa gig on the 7th? I'd like to meet some SCV hamb'rs and if you have any flyers I'd be more than happy to distribute some.
