Thanks Don Ross

Guys and Girls: We need a piston bad can any one help ? It can be a stock 4" up to a .060" over. Thanks Don Ross 214-327-7312 cell
Come on folks, someone's gotta have one. One of the main reasons I attend the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green is to see my favorite Texas race team.
I have one (stock bore) with no rings, but it's got a 1/8 inch hole drilled from top to bottom close to the edge, right above the piston pin. I used it to check pin height on a motor I was building years ago. So if you want to TIG the hole shut, it's yours. Not sure how you feel about welding on a cast piston, but it might be OK for one cackle.
Have you checked with Poverty Flats? He hauled home a TON of HEMI's a couple of years back outta' KC. And a back up to the top for ya'. Chris Also, I have only chatted with Dale Wilch @ swapmeets, but you might check with him. http://www.dalewilch.com/
Dont think we got any stockers... only domed and more hopped up race stuff.... ill PM ya if i can get ahold of one today... TH
Have you tried Egge http://www.egge.com/ or PAW http://www.pawinc.com/ Effective 9/30/2010 P.A.W. is only selling Early Chrysler Hemi Engine Parts Visit: www.earlyhemiengineparts.com
I have 8 stock pistons from a 392, but i dont know if even one is any good. I bead blasted them last yaer, only to find they pitted from sitting around for years. Here is a picture of the best two.
In a later posting he said anything from a stock bore to .060 over would be acceptable. I'd bet that TRWaters (HAMB Name) has a crate of 392 pistons on the shelf. I needed a rod for a 354, and he shipped one to me that even had the correct cylinder number stamped in the rod and cap.
I have 8 Std. bore 392 pistons I pulled a while back. They could use a cleaning don't know if they can help you but I will be more than willing to help out a TX legend. And I'm just up the road in Sherman TX.

Group: Yea I said .040 or .060 over ,that was the first plan. We can sleeve the hole and use any size stocker. I have located two stockers withen 100 miles of Dallas and may have to go that way. A member of our group, Uncle danyel, is checking with Charles Smith and Mike Brown near Tulsa for one also. Still have some time. We also need a good standard thrust main bearing. Like I have said the car will not see any more hot p***es. Scot is the last guy to beat the Scorpion for all time to come. Thanks Don Ross
Hey Don...any chance the burned piston could be welded up or did the hole go through the ring lands? Might work for limited "cackling" until Tinker can fix it right. MickeyD
